Student answer (Band 5.0)

People have a change of mind in both thier habits and opinions as they age, which is very common. I strongly agree to this, as we grow other we learns new things everyday, and can affect the way we see this see, and think as individuals. The reason for this includes the following, growth and development as a human being and More

Growth and Development as a person, occurs throughout our lifetime from birth to death. In biology we grow in body size and brain as well age, we learn new things how to walk, eat, and communicate with one and another in the society. Whilist growing up, i had a habit of picking my noise, but unlearnt it as it was not hygienic, and could distrupt its shape as well.

Changes could also occur between to technological exposure. With the recent exposure with time, we make use of them to make research, to broaden our knowledge, which gives us better understanding. My opinon on gender roles changed, when i used to think they are specific roles, but with my undergraduate thesis, i learnt we could learn both roles, and help ourselves to achieve more.

Just as people change, so our perspective on this and could be because of growth and development, and exposure to technology.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

Your position is clear: you strongly agree that people’s habits and opinions change as they age. You give relevant reasons—personal development and exposure to technology—and support them with examples about stopping nose-picking and changing your view of gender roles. However, the response addresses the task only partially because these ideas are brief and not fully explained; for instance, the link between technology and changing opinions needs clearer development. The conclusion repeats the reasons rather than drawing them together. The response also contains 216 words, so it does not meet the required 250-word minimum. Develop each example with more detail and explain explicitly how age or experience led to the change.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a basic paragraph structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion. The two body paragraphs also separate the ideas of personal development and technological exposure, which helps the reader follow the main points. However, progression is uneven: the introduction ends with the incomplete phrase “and More,” and the final paragraph largely repeats earlier points instead of providing a clear summary. Some links are awkward or unclear, such as “Changes could also occur between to technological exposure” and “Just as people change, so our perspective on this.” Use clear topic sentences, connect each example directly to its reason, and make references such as “this” specific. This would make the organisation more coherent and cohesion less repetitive.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “growth and development,” “hygienic,” “exposure,” “broaden our knowledge” and “gender roles.” These choices communicate the main ideas, but the range is limited and several noticeable spelling, word-form or collocation errors make parts difficult to understand. Examples include “thier,” “opinon,” “picking my noise” and “distrupt its shape”; “exposure with time” is also an unclear phrase. Some wording is repetitive, particularly “growth and development” and “change.” Check spelling carefully and choose precise, natural combinations of words. For example, explain what kind of technological exposure you mean rather than relying on the vague phrase “recent exposure with time.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a reason clause beginning “as we grow older” and a time clause beginning “when i used to think.” However, grammatical errors are frequent, and some sentences are difficult to follow. For example, “we learns new things” has incorrect subject–verb agreement, while “we grow in body size and brain as well age” has faulty structure. The opening sentence also contains an unclear construction, and the fragment “The reason for this includes the following, growth and development as a human being and More” is incomplete. Use complete sentences, check agreement and verb forms, and punctuate lists and clauses clearly. Building accuracy in straightforward sentence patterns will help your more complex ideas come across.
