Student answer (Band 6.0)

when people get older it is very common that their habbits and opinions change. I agree with the statment because as you grow old you prioritize your health which you may have ignored in your youth and opinions change because, you have lived long enough to know what is right and wrong.

With age your habbits change. Threre are many habits that changes overtime. I think the major one is the health priority. Many youngsters, eat unhealthy food, dont walk or do regular exercise, or get proper sleep because, at that time they do not realise how cruicial it is to take care of your body. but, as you grow, you understand and learn its importance. For example, In India, if you visit a park, you will notice there are more seniors as compare to childrens who are walking or doing yoga.

As you grow old. you have experienced many different situation at your home or at work which makes your opinion change with time. There are things which are appriopriate at that age but as days and year pass it changes completely. For instance, you are of the opinion that it is okay to spend less time with your family but it chnages in later days of your life and you feel that you should spend as much time as possible with your family.

To conclude, I believe that habits change with age, because, you learn with time what habits are important and how to prioritize it. Opinion change as a result of the experience you gain.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

Your position is clear from the opening: you agree that habits and opinions change with age, and the conclusion restates both reasons. You address both parts of the question with relevant examples, including older people exercising in Indian parks and a changing view about spending time with family. These examples make the response more than a general assertion. However, the two explanations are not equally developed: the health-habit point has several details, while the opinion example is brief and hypothetical. Explain what experience might lead someone to revise that view, and qualify broad claims such as “many youngsters” with a more specific explanation. This would make the support more consistently extended and precise.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a clear overall shape: an introduction, separate paragraphs on habits and opinions, and a conclusion. The sequence is easy to follow, and phrases such as “For example” and “For instance” signal supporting evidence. This gives the essay coherent progression. Some links are mechanical or unclear, however. Repeated openings such as “as you grow old” and “with age” make the development feel formulaic, while “There are things which are appropriate at that age” does not clearly identify which age or situation is meant. The conclusion also repeats the main points rather than drawing them together. Use clearer references and vary transitions so the connections between claims and examples are more natural.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “prioritize your health,” “regular exercise,” “importance,” and “experience.” Some phrases show an attempt to express more specific ideas, such as “health priority.” However, the range is limited and several word-choice, collocation, and spelling errors are noticeable: “habbits,” “cruicial,” “as compare to,” and “opinion change” reduce accuracy and polish. Repetition of “grow old,” “change,” and “time” also limits flexibility. Build a more precise set of expressions for changing routines and beliefs, and check spelling and natural word combinations. These improvements would make your meaning smoother and more exact.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including a reason clause with “because” and a relative clause in “habits that changes overtime.” The overall meaning remains understandable, and the essay uses paragraph breaks to separate its main points. However, control is uneven: some sentences contain several errors or awkward structures, as in “With age your habbits change. Threre are many habits that changes overtime,” and “As you grow old. you have experienced many different situation.” There are also issues with agreement, tense, articles, and punctuation, including “opinion change” and sentence fragments created by full stops. Practise checking each sentence for a complete clause, consistent tense, and subject–verb agreement, while retaining a mix of sentence forms.
