Student answer (Band 6.0)
Changing habits and opinions with age is very common among people. I am totally agree with this notion. This essay will discuss my opinion along with relevant examples.
To commence with, as a teenage people think differently. At this age they do not have to stress about thinngs except study. On the other hand, when folks step in adulthood, their mind set gets completely change. They start stressing about house, car or other luxury things. For instance, when i was child, i used to spend my whole day in playing. Because i thought that play is the only thing which makes me happy. However, if i talk about present moment, my opinion is totaaly changed, now i get satisfaction when i complete my whole tasks and achieve my goals.
Furthermore, it is often seen that in early ages of life people love to wake up late in the mornings. They prefer to watch late night shows and parties in club. As they get old, they avoid late night activites. They prefer peace instead loud music. To add to it, sometimes children indulge in bad habits in the influence of people because in this age it is easy to mold their mind. They do not know about wrong and right. As they become adult, they start doing judgements for their better future. As a consequence, they give up on bad habits and adapt good ones.
In conclusion, age has lot of to do with your habits and opinions. Age brings steady changes in your routine and thinking.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
Your position is clear from the opening: you agree that age changes both habits and opinions, and both body paragraphs address this view. The personal comparison between enjoying play as a child and now feeling satisfied by completing tasks gives relevant support, while the discussion of sleep patterns and giving up harmful habits adds another dimension. This meets the task well, but the development is uneven: the first example is more specific, whereas claims such as adults becoming concerned with “house, car or other luxury things” and children not knowing “wrong and right” are broad and need qualification or explanation. To strengthen the response, explain more precisely why these changes occur and support the general claims with a concrete example.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs with distinct points, and a conclusion that restates the central view. Sequencing expressions such as “To commence with,” “Furthermore,” and “In conclusion” help readers follow the progression. The personal example also connects the first paragraph’s point about changing opinions to your own experience. However, some linking is mechanical, and the second body paragraph moves from sleep and nightlife to children’s bad habits without a clear transition explaining how these examples relate. The phrase “To add to it” signals another point but does not establish the relationship between the ideas. Use fewer formulaic transitions and make the links between examples and the main argument more explicit.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use enough vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including phrases such as “mind set,” “get satisfaction,” “achieve my goals,” and “bad habits.” There is some attempt to use less common language, but several choices are inaccurate or unnatural, which limits precision: “step in adulthood,” “doing judgements,” and “adapt good ones” do not express the intended meanings naturally. Spelling errors such as “thinngs,” “totaaly,” and “activites” are also noticeable. Aim to learn vocabulary in common combinations and check spelling carefully. More precise expressions for life stages, changing priorities, and replacing habits would make the argument clearer and more fluent.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including clauses introduced by “when,” “because,” and “as,” and the overall meaning is generally understandable. However, errors in verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence construction occur across the response. For example, “I am totally agree” should be “I totally agree,” “their mind set gets completely change” needs a corrected verb form, and “when i was child” is missing an article. The sentence beginning “Because i thought…” is also a fragment in this context. These errors sometimes make the reader pause, although your main points remain clear. Practise checking each sentence for a complete clause, correct verb form, and necessary articles, while retaining your attempts at complex structures.
