Student answer (Band 6.0)
Changing habits and opinions of people usually changes as they grow older. Habits and opinion does changes over the period of time, it does not stay the same, however, this essay talks about its change and how difficult it gets as they become older. This consistency is attributed to their years of belief and practice which is hard to break.
We know that humans change their behavior and personality as they grow but in the long run, they stick to their routine, habits, choices, and opinions as well. It is hard to change once people reach to the stage when those opinions and habits are solidified within them. It is years of practice and belief which also takes time to change, which is not easy. My parents have become senior citizen now and I have seen them changing but I have also seen them clinging to their old habits such as waking up early in the morning, praying before eating, etc. Even if they are sick, they cannot stop themselves from waking up early in the morning.
Change is hard for people as they grow older and it requires a lot of effort. Everyone wants their life to be easier and wants no stress. As we become older, our trust and reliance towards our routine and choices becomes more stronger, hence it is harder to change oneself. In my case, whenever my routine changes, I am anxious and look for finding ways to get back to the same routine. Our body and mind wants no sudden changes that's why we keep our habits and opinions same. When I am being sent on tours for office work or seminars, I am annoyed as my whole routine gets twisted, which my body starts can't bear. So, as we become older, our body would not be able to stand to it, so we keep on following our old habits.
To conclude, it is not easier to change both the habits and opinions once people starts growing older and this is due to their years of opinions and habits that has become more solid. Moreover, as our body and mind becomes weak, people avoid sudden changes and want to maintain the same old routine and habits, even their belief and opinions stays the same.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your position is clear: you disagree that people commonly change their habits and opinions as they age, arguing instead that established routines and beliefs become harder to alter. You address both habits and opinions and support your view with relevant examples, particularly your parents’ routines and your own reaction to work trips. This meets the task, but some points are more fully developed than others. The examples mainly illustrate habits and discomfort with disrupted routines; the claim that opinions remain fixed receives less specific support. The explanation that older people’s bodies and minds become weaker is also asserted rather than demonstrated. Develop this point carefully and add a concrete example of an opinion that has persisted or changed with age.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a coherent overall structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion, with each paragraph focused on the difficulty of changing established routines. The examples generally follow the ideas they illustrate, and linking expressions such as “however,” “hence” and “To conclude” help signal relationships. At times, though, connections are mechanical or unclear. The opening says the essay will discuss “its change,” while the main argument is that change is difficult, creating an unclear transition. Repeated references to routines and habits also make progression feel circular, and “which my body starts can’t bear” has an unclear reference. Make each paragraph advance a distinct reason and use clearer references between claims and examples.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use enough vocabulary to communicate the central argument, including relevant terms such as “solidified,” “reliance,” “routine” and “anxious.” The examples also give you opportunities to use language connected to daily habits and personal experience. However, several word choices and collocations are unnatural or imprecise, which limits the range and fluency of expression. For example, “trust and reliance towards our routine” and “our body and mind wants no sudden changes” do not sound natural in this context; “our body starts can’t bear” is also difficult to interpret. Repetition of “habits,” “routine” and “change” further narrows the vocabulary. Build a bank of accurate collocations for discussing behaviour, beliefs and adaptation, and check whether each phrase sounds natural in context.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt a mix of simple and complex sentences, including clauses with “as,” “once” and “even if,” and your meaning is generally understandable. Some errors in agreement, verb forms and sentence construction remain. For instance, “Habits and opinion does changes” has problems with plural agreement and verb form, while “people starts growing older” and “our body and mind becomes weak” also show agreement errors. The sentence “which my body starts can’t bear” is structurally faulty, and “it is not easier to change” uses an awkward comparative construction. These errors do not usually prevent the reader from following your argument, but they reduce accuracy. Review subject–verb agreement and practise checking each clause for a complete, correctly formed verb.
