Student answer (Band 6.0)

In this contemporary world, it is widely common for human beings to change both their habits and their opinions as they get older. I completely agree with this given notion and it is very rightful for people to change their views and their point of views throughout their life. I have considerable reasons to support my opinion which are mentioned in further paragraphs.

To begin with, there are several considerable reasons for changing our life and habitats. When people are in their young age they often follow what their gardians' path because they are getting raised under their supervision and thus sometimes they are not able to follow their own path of life, but as they grow and once they takeover their own life then they usually prefer to follow their own opinions. For example, a majority of juveniles in Canada usually follow the hobbies what their parents are allowing them to perform according to their budget and once they get adulthood they choose their own path without any restrictions.

Furthermore, peoples habits and their opinions are generally based on their past experience. If they see any negetive effects in their life which is causing through a perticular actions then they often tend to change that perticular habit. To illustrate more, the habit of fuming cigarrates or vaping regularly, when the consumers are noticing that their health is declining due to this habit then they often change their actions in order to revive their life, they were having good time by performing that action however now they will change their opinion about consuming cigarrates for their own health.

In essence, changing point of views are totally dependent on situations and experiences. Nonetheless, sometimes we also make wrong decisions in influence thus it is necessary to think twice before implementing any type of change in our life.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

Your position is clear from the introduction: you completely agree that people change their habits and opinions as they age. Both body paragraphs give relevant reasons, including growing independence from parents and learning from negative experiences, and the examples of young people in Canada and smoking or vaping help illustrate these points. This addresses the task well. However, the first example focuses more on choosing hobbies than on changing opinions, and the link between age and changing habits could be explained more explicitly. The conclusion adds a sensible caution about decisions made under influence, but this idea is not developed earlier. More balanced development of each part of your argument would make the response more complete.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a clear overall structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs presenting separate reasons, and a concluding paragraph. Signposts such as “To begin with,” “Furthermore,” and “In essence” make the progression easy to follow. The examples are generally placed alongside the ideas they support. At times, however, linking is mechanical or the relationship between sentences is not fully clear. For instance, the long sentence about young people in Canada combines parental restrictions, hobbies, and adulthood without clearly connecting these to changes in opinions. The smoking example also shifts between habits and opinions in one sentence. Use clearer sentence boundaries and refer back explicitly to the main claim to make cohesion more flexible and precise.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You attempt a range of vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “supervision,” “restrictions,” “past experience,” and “negative effects.” These choices help communicate your main points, but several inaccurate or unnatural expressions limit precision. “Widely common” is redundant, “rightful” does not naturally mean reasonable in this context, and “habitats” is used where you mean habits. There are also spelling errors such as “gardians,” “negetive,” and “cigarrates,” alongside awkward collocations such as “revive their life.” The reader can usually understand your meaning, but these noticeable errors make some phrases less clear. Focus on accurate spelling and natural word partnerships before adding more advanced vocabulary.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You use both simple statements and longer complex sentences, including clauses with “when,” “because,” and “if,” so there is some variety in structure. Your main ideas remain understandable, but errors in sentence construction and agreement recur. For example, “peoples habits and their opinions are generally based” needs a possessive form and plural agreement, while “changing point of views are” has a mismatch between the subject and verb. The sentence beginning “To illustrate more” runs together several ideas and would be clearer if divided into shorter sentences. There are also problems with verb forms and patterns, as in “which is causing through a particular actions.” More consistent control of agreement, clause structure, and punctuation would improve accuracy while preserving your attempts at complex sentences.
