Student answer (Band 6.0)
I completely agree on this point of changing their habits and opinions as they get older. As they grow older, their level of understanding change by age. Even sometimes it depends on the maturity that a person acquires by observing the society and people around them.
For example, a person has a habit of eating junk food from childhood and it continued up till his late 20s. Later he realised that eating junk has runied his 20s and gave them Obesity for which they are struggling in their 30s. Starting then, they change their lifestyle and eating patterns. Another example is about the opinions, during teenage everything seems to be fun and we easily pick up a fight if we do not like the other person attitude. We easily judge other people without even knowing or understanding their version. But as we grow older, we take time to understand people and try to talk to them and sort the issues out. This is a common adaption to the surrounding situation and society. Love, emotions, understanding and many more improve in life. People might support a ruling party irrespective of what party it is. So every time, it is completely based on the majority of the government.
If people dont try to change them as they excel in their life, I dont think they might have a meaningful life. Even most of the people in the present generation are changing their opinions based on the ongoing changes in the society.
When I have seen these differences in people at different stages of life, I really felt surprised. I always felt this is how the life should go on.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
Your position is clear from the opening: you completely agree that habits and opinions change with age. You address both aspects of the question, using the junk-food example to illustrate changing habits and the teenage-conflict example to show changing attitudes. These are relevant and help support your view. The response also offers a personal observation near the end. However, some points are less fully explained: the comment about supporting a ruling party is difficult to connect to the main argument, and the claim that people need to change to have a meaningful life is asserted rather than supported. To strengthen the response, explain how age or experience leads to each change and develop the examples more consistently.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has an identifiable overall sequence: it states your view, gives examples, and then offers a concluding reflection. Linking expressions such as “For example,” “Another example,” and “But as we grow older” help readers follow the contrast between younger and older behaviour. However, the main body combines several ideas in one long paragraph, and the shift from interpersonal opinions to political support is abrupt. The final two paragraphs repeat the general idea of change without clearly bringing the examples together. Use separate paragraphs for habits, opinions, and your conclusion, and make each transition show how the next point supports your position. This would create clearer progression and reduce the sense of loosely connected points.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use enough vocabulary to discuss habits, maturity, relationships, and social change, including phrases such as “eating patterns,” “judge other people,” and “sort the issues out.” This gives the response a relevant range, and the main meaning is generally understandable. However, some word choices and collocations are inaccurate or imprecise, such as “a common adaption to the surrounding situation,” “their version,” and “the majority of the government.” There are also spelling and form errors, including “runied” and “dont,” which reduce accuracy. Aim for more precise expressions and check spelling carefully. For example, describe people as adapting to changing circumstances, hearing another person’s perspective, or responding to a change in government.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including clauses beginning “As they grow older” and “if we do not like…,” and most of your meaning can be followed. However, errors in agreement, tense, and sentence construction remain noticeable. For instance, “their level of understanding change” needs subject–verb agreement, while “a person has a habit … and it continued” shifts tense awkwardly. The sentence beginning “Later he realised” also has an unclear reference when it says the habit “gave them Obesity.” Some punctuation and sentence boundaries could be clearer, particularly in the long sequence of ideas in the main paragraph. Review agreement and tense consistency, and divide complex ideas into controlled sentences.
