Student answer (Band 5.5)
Yes, I agree that people change both their habits and their opinions as they get older. From my experience for example : In my childhood I mostly avoid eating or not intrested to eat fresh leafy vegetables and milk but as I grew older I came to know the nutritional value of these foods and have changed my preference and started consuming them daily.
One more example : When I was a child I mostly prefer indoor games like sitting infront of Televison and playing video games but as I grew older I have started playing outdoor games like cricket and batmiton and weekly once swimming. Outdoor games have a good impact on my mental and physical health. Hence I have shifted my opinion regarding this habit. Swimming is a very good sport and where we can burn lot of calories and it helps our body to stay fit.
One more example : In my childhood I had a habit of having lot of sugary foods like choclates, sweets etc., But as I grew older I came to know that sugar is the most worse subustance that causes lot of harm to our body. hence forth I have decided to cut all the foods that contain added sugars. After this decision I can see my skin is healthy and I am more active than I previously use to be.
Conclusion : In everyone's life habits will change as once grows older but we need to keep our mind aligned on positive side and should develop atomic habits and stay disciplined which help us to succed in life.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your position is clear from the opening: you agree that habits and opinions often change with age, and the examples about food, exercise and sugar are relevant. The response also explains reasons for these changes, such as learning about nutrition and recognising health benefits. However, the examples mainly show changes in habits and preferences; the link to changing opinions is less fully explained, particularly in the first and third examples. The conclusion introduces “atomic habits” and discipline, but these points are not developed in the body. To strengthen the response, explain more explicitly how each experience changed your viewpoint, and develop the concluding idea or connect it directly to your examples.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure: an opening position, three example paragraphs and a conclusion. This makes the main line of thought understandable, and phrases such as “as I grew older” help show the time sequence. However, beginning two paragraphs with “One more example” is repetitive, while labels such as “Conclusion:” feel mechanical rather than integrated. Some ideas within paragraphs could be linked more clearly: the discussion of swimming, for instance, moves from outdoor games to calorie burning without a smooth explanation of how this supports the point about changing opinions. Use topic sentences and varied transitions, and make the relationship between each example and your central argument explicit.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use enough vocabulary to communicate the topic, including relevant terms such as “nutritional value,” “mental and physical health,” and “added sugars.” There are also attempts at more specific expressions, such as “shifted my opinion.” However, spelling errors and imprecise or unnatural word choices are noticeable, including “intrested,” “batmiton,” “subustance,” and “the most worse.” Some phrases are also awkward, such as “weekly once swimming” and “cut all the foods.” These do not prevent the reader from understanding your examples, but they reduce precision and naturalness. Proofread spelling carefully and learn common collocations for describing habits, health effects and personal change.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You use a mixture of simple statements and longer sentences, and the overall meaning is generally clear. Some sentences combine a reason and a result, as in the explanation that learning about nutrition led you to change your preference. However, there are some errors in verb forms, sentence construction and punctuation. For example, “In my childhood I mostly avoid” needs a consistent past form, and “When I was a child I mostly prefer” should also use the past tense. The opening example has an awkward construction (“avoid eating or not interested to eat”), and the colon after “for example” is not used appropriately. Aim for accurate past-tense narration and build longer sentences with clear clauses and punctuation.
