Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0
You state a clear position in the introduction: “I strongly agree,” and begin to give a relevant reason, linking age with greater maturity and knowledge. However, the response addresses the question only minimally. The explanation about younger people being influenced by others is unfinished, the example stops at “For instance,” and the final paragraph merely announces that older people change their mindset without explaining how or why. The task asks you to discuss changes in both habits and opinions, so develop each aspect with specific reasons and relevant examples. The response also does not meet the required minimum length, leaving the argument substantially incomplete. Add developed body paragraphs and a conclusion that reinforces your position.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5
There is a basic attempt to organise the response: an introductory paragraph is followed by points introduced with “To begin with” and “In addition to that.” This gives the reader some indication of the intended progression. However, the ideas do not form a complete or coherent argument: the first body paragraph ends with an unfinished example, and the next paragraph is only one sentence, with no explanation or conclusion. The linking phrases therefore cannot create progression between fully developed points. Build each paragraph around one clear idea, explain it, and support it with an example. Use transitions to show the relationship between those ideas, and finish with a concluding paragraph.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use some relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “habits,” “opinions,” “maturity,” “knowledge,” and “mindset,” and phrases such as “I strongly agree” communicate your position clearly. There are also attempts at more formal expression, such as “this notion” and “suitable examples.” However, the range is limited in this short response, and some choices or forms are inaccurate or unnatural: “in recents years,” “get influence,” and “understande whole scenario” make parts less fluent. Aim for accurate collocations and a wider range of precise language for describing how people’s routines and views evolve. Proofread spelling and word forms, and avoid formal-sounding phrases when a simpler, more natural expression is clearer.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple statements and a more complex construction, as in “because they develop more maturity and enhance their knowledge.” The main position and general meaning are usually understandable. However, the range of sentence structures is limited, and errors occur in several sentences. For example, “younger generations are more likely get influence” is missing grammatical elements, while “older people will understande whole scenario and react after” has problems with verb form, article use, and sentence completion. The opening sentence also has an unclear grammatical relationship between “habits and opinions” and “their older age.” Practise building accurate complex sentences, check articles and verb patterns, and ensure each sentence expresses a complete thought.
