Student answer (Band 6.0)

As human beings age their personal habits and opinios both change and it is very common. I agree with this statement and my reasons for it are described in the following passages.

To begin with, when youngsters are in high school when they have not earned a single penny and they misuse their parents hard earned money on unnecessary things it becomes their habit for that particular age and when they get older and start earning their own money this habit goes away. For instance, there was a boy in my school every month i saw new shoes on his feet and belt on his waist, whenever i asked him why would he waste this much wealth on this items he said this is my hobby. As we grew older and went for university education he got sense of knowledge and stopped that routine.

Moreover, people in their early 20s think that life is too short and they need to explore it without being ever getting married and this thaught changes when they hit mid 30s where they are all by themselves and have no one to talk to when they return to their apartment after work. For example. a study shows that in western countries people between age group 32-36 are more depressed compared to any other age group because of never getting married.

In conclusion, opinions and habits do change as humankind grow older and i think it's the best change to experience.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

Your position is clear from the introduction: you agree that habits and opinions change with age, and both body paragraphs give relevant examples. The story about your school friend supports the point that spending habits can change after someone begins earning, while the discussion of attitudes to marriage addresses changing opinions. However, the second example relies on a broad claim about depression and marriage without explaining its source or showing clearly how age causes the change. The first example could also explain more directly how gaining financial responsibility changes the habit. The response is five words below the required minimum, so ensure you meet the task length and use the extra space to develop these explanations.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs signalled by “To begin with” and “Moreover,” and a conclusion. The examples generally follow the ideas they are intended to support, and the reader can follow your position. This meets the lower-band expectation of coherent overall arrangement and shows some of the stronger progression associated with the next level. To make that progression more consistent, clarify links between claims and examples: the study about depression needs an explicit connection to changing opinions about marriage. Some transitions are mechanical, and “For example.” is incorrectly punctuated as a sentence fragment. Use linking phrases selectively and make each paragraph’s main point and supporting example connect more explicitly.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use enough vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including topic-related terms such as “habits,” “opinions,” “unnecessary things,” and “depressed.” There are also attempts at more specific phrasing, such as “hard-earned money” and “university education.” However, noticeable spelling and word-choice errors reduce precision: “opinios” and “thaught” are misspelled, while “got sense of knowledge” and “waste this much wealth on this items” are unnatural or unclear. Some wording is repetitive, particularly the repeated use of “change” and “older.” Build accuracy with natural collocations and check spelling; this will make your ideas clearer and give you more flexibility without changing your meaning.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including a conditional time relationship in “when they get older and start earning their own money this habit goes away.” The overall meaning is usually understandable, but some grammatical errors remain. For example, “when youngsters are in high school when they have not earned” repeats the conjunction and makes the opening sentence difficult to follow; “people in their early 20s think … and they need” also needs clearer sentence structure. There are errors in articles and agreement, as in “on this items” and “as humankind grow older,” as well as punctuation problems such as “For example.” followed by a lowercase sentence. Aim for cleaner clause construction and check agreement, articles, and sentence boundaries.
