Student answer (Band 5.5)
Yes I do agree as we get older our perception in life is also changed. It is because everyone has different past and different experiences in life.I would like to see an example about my mother. When we were young She have taught us to dream big,go abroad and make more wealth for our future. Our childhood revolves in a home that you should be perfect and you should not creat any mistakes and you should be good in everything that you do.Which creating pressures for me amd my siblings. So we grew up that way and I am very proud of my mother's parenting style. However when life gets difficult my Mother got cancer on 2017,And most of Her children are far away from Her as we are worning abroad for living.I've got surprise that She adviced me the importance of happiness and satisfaction. She said that she realized that in life the most important thing is satisfaction and that is the secret of success. She realized that while she is busy looking for great things inthe future She's missing the present moments. In fact She adviced me to go home and start to have a simple life away from stress abroad. She adviced me that success is everywhere and if you are happy then you are successful.
Hearing these words from,Her made me realized that in life we must be content with what have ans we should appreciate the things in the present. And I'v got happy because for all this time my Mother got the chance to remold us again the way she molded us from the begenning.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You clearly agree that people’s habits and opinions change with age, and the story about your mother is relevant and personal. The contrast between her earlier emphasis on achievement and her later advice to value happiness and the present gives your response a meaningful central example. You also explain how her changed outlook affected you. However, the discussion focuses almost entirely on your mother’s opinions; the task asks about both habits and opinions, and the change in habits is only briefly suggested through her advice to return home and live simply. Develop this aspect more explicitly, and explain further why age or experience led to the change. This would make the response more fully balanced and developed.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable progression: you state your view, describe your mother’s earlier beliefs, explain how illness changed her outlook, and conclude with the effect on you. Time markers such as “When we were young,” “However,” and “In fact” help the reader follow the story. At times, though, ideas run together in long blocks, and several sentences are joined without clear punctuation, making the progression harder to track. The repeated use of “She advised me” also makes the links feel mechanical. Use separate paragraphs for the introduction, the example, and the conclusion, and vary your referencing—for example, “This advice” or “Her new perspective”—to make connections clearer.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant vocabulary to communicate the personal example, including “perception,” “satisfaction,” “present moments,” and “parenting style.” These choices help convey the contrast between ambition and contentment. However, the range is limited in places, and some word choices or collocations are inaccurate or unclear, such as “our childhood revolves in a home,” “got surprise,” and “remold us again.” Spelling errors, including “creat,” “worning,” and “beg enning,” also reduce accuracy and can distract the reader. Aim for more natural expressions and check spelling carefully. For instance, “grew up in a household where” and “I was surprised” would express your meaning more clearly.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including clauses beginning with “because,” “when,” and “if,” and the main message remains understandable. However, errors in verb forms, agreement, sentence boundaries, and punctuation occur across the response. Examples include “She have taught us,” “my Mother got cancer on 2017,” and “made me realized”; these need forms such as “She taught us,” “my mother was diagnosed with cancer in 2017,” and “made me realise.” Some sentences also combine several clauses without clear punctuation, particularly the opening account of your childhood. Practise controlling past-tense narration and breaking long sentences into complete, accurately punctuated units.
