Student answer (Band 6.0)
In the journey of life, there are various phases, masses often modify their way of life, attitudes, rituals and habits with their age. I greatly agree with the statement because dwellers gain knowledge and learn lessons from their life. This essay will delve into this topic and will explicate why their behaviour and thoughts differs when they get older.
To begin with the first reason, life provides them deep knowledge of what is wrong and right. Once they get older they learn lessons, which support them to take decisions wisely for doing modifications in their wrong deeds. For instance, complicated matter in a family often is solved by the elder person effectively than the younger one. Why? Because sometime they face the same scenario in the past. Consequently, they alter their life by replacing awful habits and try to accomplish something better by changing themselves. Secondly, people become aware about their responsibilities towards their families, which help them to understand the real meaning of their life and result in changes. For example, as communities grow their requirements , accountabilities and demands also increase. That is why, it is crucial for them to do changes in their lifestyle.
On the other hand there is a section of the society, where people have same habits and preferences as they grow. In other words, it maybe due to lack of proper guidance or peer-pressure. Environment also plays a crucial role in the development.
In conclusion, Although there are some reasons when people do not change their behaviour according to their age, mostly do modifications in themselves as the get older.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your position is clear from the introduction: you strongly agree that people change as they age, and the conclusion restates this view. The essay gives relevant reasons, especially that experience helps older people make wiser decisions and that family responsibilities can prompt lifestyle changes. The example of an older family member resolving a familiar problem supports the first reason. However, the responsibilities point is explained less clearly, and the opposing view—that some people retain their habits—is introduced but not supported with a specific example or linked fully to your overall position. Develop each main point with a clearer explanation and a concrete example, and distinguish more explicitly between changes in habits and changes in opinions.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, a paragraph presenting reasons, a contrasting point, and a conclusion. Sequencing phrases such as “To begin with,” “Secondly,” and “On the other hand” help readers follow the broad progression. However, some connections are mechanical, and the second reason moves quickly from family responsibilities to communities’ increasing demands without making the link fully clear. The short “Why?” question also interrupts the formal flow, while “In other words” does not clearly restate the preceding idea. Use more precise links between claims and examples, and organise the two supporting reasons into clearly developed paragraphs so each stage of the argument is easier to follow.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You attempt a range of vocabulary related to experience and change, including “attitudes,” “responsibilities,” “peer-pressure,” and “development.” These choices show an effort to express ideas beyond basic language. However, several phrases are unnatural or imprecise, such as “masses modify their way of life,” “dwellers gain knowledge,” and “do modifications in their lifestyle.” Some word choices make the argument less clear, particularly “communities grow” where you appear to mean that people or families acquire more responsibilities. Aim for natural collocations and use words that accurately identify the subject. For example, “people change their habits” is clearer than “masses modify their way of life,” while “make changes to their lifestyle” is more idiomatic than “do modifications.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You use both simple and complex sentence forms, including subordinate clauses beginning with “because,” “which,” and “when.” Most ideas remain understandable, but some grammatical errors recur and occasionally make relationships between ideas less clear. Examples include “their behaviour and thoughts differs,” where the plural subject requires a plural verb, and “as the get older,” where the pronoun is incorrect. There are also issues with articles and sentence punctuation, as in “complicated matter in a family,” and the capitalised “Although” after the comma in the conclusion. Review subject–verb agreement, articles, and punctuation, then proofread each sentence for a complete and correctly connected structure.
