Student answer (Band 5.0)

Adding new habits is a part of life, and it can be change through the times.

In yester years, people follows traditional habits and they take opinions through hearts whereas nowsdays, people are more often to change their habits according to current needs and they have lots of platfroms where they can get the knowledge and according to them change their opinions. It has been put forword that topic I agree with this stance.

The major reason why people to change both their habits and their opinions as they get older is deep understanding for instance, In nowsdays, people have grap knowledge and ideas while growing. Besides this, habits change due to present need and it is good for that person, if they do not change their habits that time they look theirself behinds others. A good illustration of that is technology, it is change very quickly and if we do not adpot the technology we shall behinds others.

Similary, opinions will also change as people get older for instance, at the present time they have some bad opinions regarding government policy, but in furture when they get benefit that time their opinion will be change in positive. Moreover, while the get older people understand the facts and gain knowledge and that time their different opinions and I am strongly agree with this.

In conclusion, it can be say that nowsdays, it is very common for people to change both their habits and their opinions as they get older. I am think it is a necessary now.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You state a clear overall position—“I agree with this stance”—and give relevant reasons, including growing understanding and adapting to technology. However, the ideas remain limited and are not developed with specific, convincing examples. The technology point explains why habits may change, but the example about government policy is hypothetical and does not clearly show how age changes someone’s opinion. The conclusion repeats your view rather than adding a final insight. The response also contains 226 words, so it is 24 words below the 250-word minimum; the 31 words copied from the task prompt were not counted. Develop each reason with a concrete example and explain more directly how getting older causes the change.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response has a basic paragraph structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion. This gives the reader some sense of organisation, and phrases such as “The major reason” and “Moreover” signal relationships between ideas. However, progression within paragraphs is often unclear, and linking expressions are sometimes repetitive or awkwardly used. For example, “Besides this” introduces another point without clearly connecting it to the claim about understanding, while “that time” is repeated and makes the sequence of ideas difficult to follow. The second body paragraph also combines a government-policy example with a general point about gaining knowledge without explaining their relationship. Use clearer topic sentences and connect each example explicitly to the main argument.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “traditional habits,” “current needs,” “technology,” and “government policy,” so the main subject is generally understandable. However, the range is limited and several word-choice, collocation and spelling problems make parts of the response difficult to read. Examples include “grap knowledge,” “platforms” misspelled as “platfroms,” and “get benefit,” which is not a natural way to express the intended idea. Repeated use of “change,” “people,” and “opinions” also limits precision. Build a wider set of accurate phrases for describing changes in behaviour and beliefs, and check spelling and collocations carefully. More precise vocabulary would help you explain your examples clearly.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and longer sentences, including clauses introduced by “whereas,” “if,” and “while,” but complex structures are often faulty and errors occur frequently. For example, “people follows” has incorrect subject–verb agreement, and “it can be change” uses an incorrect verb form. In “the major reason why people to change,” the sentence lacks a correctly formed verb phrase; “I am strongly agree” also has an incorrect structure. Articles, tense and sentence boundaries are inconsistent, as in “it is change very quickly.” These errors sometimes make the intended meaning harder to follow. Practise building accurate basic sentences first, then add subordinate clauses, checking verb forms and agreement in each clause.
