Student answer (Band 6.0)

It is a common observation that Personal habits and opinions transformed with age. From my perspective it is widly depents on personal circumstances, careers and life experiences that can pesue changes in personal opinions and habits .

I partially agreed with this observation. In the early years of life and during teenage, individual are mainly dependent on their parents both financially and physically, hence their habits derived from home environment. For example most of children like to play games, collect toys or have other indoor hobbies, however their interests and opinions alter during teenage and teeagers are mainly choose music, adveture sports or just going out with their friends.

Academic activities also play a major part in change of personal priorities, for example high acheiving stutents realise their responsibilities in early age and they modify their habits in your age, furthermore their opinions towards life and future is more focus and self driven.Adoptation of new habits and thought process is also more evident with personal careers and responsibilities.

To support my point, I will give my personal example. I was a keen coin collector in my childhood and a cricket player, however my academic journey and travelling abroad for higher studies did change my personal habits, like working in schadule, preparing my meals and cloths myself and time management for my exams.Secondly the opnions about family and social life did change a lot with my life-long career and being a bread winner for my family.

In conclusion, I do agree with statement that individual's opinions an point of view towards life changes with age and it is mainly depends on their circumstances and life experiences .

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

Your position is clear: you partly agree that habits and opinions change with age, and your conclusion restates that changes depend on circumstances and experience. You address both habits and opinions, using relevant examples from childhood, teenage years, study abroad, and family responsibilities. The personal example about becoming more organised and supporting your family gives the response a useful basis. However, some points are asserted rather than fully explained. For instance, the paragraph on academic activities says students become more focused, but does not show clearly how this changes their opinions as they age. The opening also suggests circumstances matter, but the extent to which age itself causes change could be distinguished more clearly. More explanation of these links would make the argument more fully developed.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs on childhood and academic or career influences, a personal example, and a conclusion. This helps the reader follow the main line of argument. You also use linking expressions such as “For example,” “furthermore,” and “In conclusion.” At times, however, connections feel mechanical or the relationship between ideas is not fully clear. The academic paragraph moves from students’ responsibilities to careers without a clear transition, while “Secondly” introduces another personal point without a matching first point in that paragraph. Some long sentences also combine several ideas, making progression harder to follow. Use clearer topic sentences and divide related points into shorter, logically connected sentences.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use some relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “personal circumstances,” “responsibilities,” “time management,” and “life experiences.” These choices help communicate the main ideas, and there are attempts at more specific expressions such as “bread winner.” However, spelling errors and inaccurate word forms are noticeable, including “widly,” “pesue,” “acheiving,” and “Adoptation.” Some collocations are also unnatural, such as “habits derived from home environment” and “modify their habits in your age,” which can make the intended meaning less immediate. Build accuracy by checking spelling and learning common word partnerships, especially for describing change, priorities, and independence. A more precise range would help you express the argument with greater ease.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including clauses with “however,” “hence,” and “that,” and the overall meaning is generally recoverable. There are nevertheless recurring errors in sentence construction and grammatical control. For example, “I partially agreed” shifts into the past despite presenting a current opinion, and “individual are mainly dependent” has a subject–verb agreement problem. The sentence beginning “it is mainly depends” also combines incompatible verb patterns. Articles, plurals, and punctuation need attention: “most of children” and “individual's opinions an point” are examples, while several sentences run together after full stops. Practise accurate agreement and verb patterns, and use sentence boundaries consistently. This would make your varied sentence attempts clearer and more controlled.
