Student answer (Band 6.0)
It is often argued that people's habits and opinion change with their age. I strongly agree with this statement that people change their habits and opinions.
Firstly, people's daily habits change as they grow old. In young age, they like to spend time with friends and spending late nights together. But eventually, as they grow old they like to go on bed early. People change their habits with age bacause they understand their respponsibilities and priorities. For example, at young age people like to eat fast foods and they love spending time with friends but they get aged they like to prioritized their families and love to eat healthy foods. With the increasing of age, they know what's best for their health. This clearly shows how age can influence people's lifestyle.
Secondly, people's opinion change with their age. In young age, we donot understand some situations and how to handle the situations. As people get mature, they learn from their life's experiences. When people are young, they may take decisions depending on their emotions but when they older they learn from their life mistakes. At young age, people like to go out and spending time with their friends and find entertainment outside. But when they get old, they start prioriortizing their families and kids. For instance, a young person may believe that earning high salary is importance. But they get older, they understand that good health, family and happiness are equally importat.
In conclusion, I strongly beleive that people's habits and opinions change with their age. This is mainly because they become more mature, gain valuable experiences and develop different priorities in life.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
Your position is clear from the introduction and conclusion: you strongly agree that habits and opinions change with age. You address both parts of the question, giving relevant examples about sleep, food, family priorities, and views on salary and happiness. The explanation that experience and maturity influence decisions also supports your position. However, some points are asserted rather than fully developed. For example, the contrast between young people enjoying friends and older people prioritising family is repeated in both body paragraphs, while the specific example about salary could explain more clearly how a person’s opinion changes over time. Developing each example with a clearer cause-and-effect explanation would make the response more fully supported.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs organised around habits and opinions, and a conclusion. Sequencing phrases such as “Firstly,” “Secondly,” and “In conclusion” make the progression easy to follow, and the examples generally appear beside the points they support. This gives the essay a coherent arrangement. However, the linking is somewhat mechanical, and repeated contrasts about young people spending time with friends and older people prioritising family make the progression less effective. Some references are also unclear, as in “But they get older,” where the subject is not stated. Use a wider range of natural transitions and make links between examples and claims more explicit.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use enough vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including relevant terms such as “responsibilities,” “priorities,” “experiences,” and “mature.” However, the range is limited and several word-choice, collocation, and spelling problems are noticeable. Examples include “go on bed early,” “prioritized their families,” and “the increasing of age”; these expressions are understandable but not natural in context. There are also spelling errors such as “bacause,” “respponsibilities,” and “beleive,” alongside incorrect forms such as “importance” where “important” is needed. Aim to learn vocabulary in natural phrases and check spelling and word forms carefully; this will make your ideas more precise and fluent.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including clauses with “as,” “but,” and “when,” and your meaning is generally clear. Some sentences are controlled, such as “This clearly shows how age can influence people’s lifestyle.” However, errors in agreement, verb forms, and sentence construction recur. For example, “people’s opinion change” needs plural agreement, “when they older” is missing a verb, and “they like to spend time with friends and spending late nights” does not maintain a parallel structure. The sentence beginning “But they get older” is also incomplete in its current form. Review subject–verb agreement and build complex sentences carefully, while retaining the range of structures you are attempting.
