Student answer (Band 5.5)
Well, some habits make men perfect while others disregard them. Opinions matter a lot in almost every phases of life. I agree to the statement that it is very common for people to change both their habits as well as opinions as they get older.
To begin with, as people get older, they develop the sense of what is right and wrong. Moreover, they can think differently about their future. Even habits are changed. To elaborate, a child has a different habit when he was a kid but the same person has completely new habit in the adulthood. For instance, when I was in a school I had a habit of not brushing my teeth at the night but I changed my habit since I understand the value of brushing teeth at night.
What is more, opinions can change too. As people grow older, they change their thoughts. Because of a lot of experiences of life, people change their nature as a result that affects the opinions. For example, people used to give their opinions harshly or maybe without thinking much about how other pepole will feel but later in life a person become more calm and think about other's feeling while giving their opinion.
To the downside, sometimes people change their good habit as they grow up and which is not good. To elaborate, in the childhood, kids have habit to pray god daily but as they get older they change this good habit. However, some habits could be change.
Overall, I agree that changing habits and opinions are very common as people get older.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your position is clear from the introduction and conclusion: you agree that habits and opinions commonly change with age. You address both parts of the question and give relevant personal and general examples, such as changing your tooth-brushing habit and becoming more considerate when expressing opinions. These examples help explain your view. However, some points are less fully developed than others. The discussion of changing opinions is broad, and the final paragraph introduces the loss of a good habit without explaining how this qualifies or complicates your agreement. Develop that contrast and explain more precisely why age or experience leads to each change.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs on habits and opinions, a contrasting point, and a conclusion. Sequencing phrases such as “To begin with,” “What is more,” and “Overall” help signal the stages of the argument. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes unclear or mechanical. For example, “To the downside” introduces a contrast, but the paragraph does not connect the example of prayer clearly to the main argument. Some links between ideas are also awkward, as in “Because of a lot of experiences of life… as a result that affects the opinions.” Use clearer cause-and-effect links and make each paragraph’s central point explicit.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use enough vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including relevant terms such as “experiences,” “opinions,” and “adulthood.” However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations sound unnatural, which sometimes makes the meaning less precise. Examples include “in almost every phases of life,” “develop the sense of what is right and wrong,” and “give their opinions harshly.” There are also spelling and word-form errors, such as “pepole” and “more calm.” Aim for more precise expressions and check spelling and collocations. For instance, you could describe people as “becoming more aware of right and wrong” or “expressing their views bluntly.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, and the overall meaning is generally understandable. However, the range is limited, and errors recur in verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence construction. For example, “a child has a different habit when he was a kid” shifts tense inconsistently, while “a person become more calm” has a subject–verb agreement error. “In almost every phases” also has a number agreement problem, and “some habits could be change” uses an incorrect passive form. Practise building accurate complex sentences, especially with clauses showing cause and contrast, and proofread for consistent tense, singular/plural agreement, and complete sentence structure.
