Student answer (Band 5.5)
It is often argue that people change their habits and perspectives with their age. I completely agree with this and this essay will examine the influence of family, friends, environments and digital platforms are the reasons behind this.
First of all, people have certain way of living. Sometimes change in the environment or from the influence of their families people change their habits or opinions. For example, in a small town sons were only allowed to go out at night but seeing a neighbour allowing his daughter to go out changed things. Also, some individuals have a reserved thinking of staying in the same town life long. But once he know what he misses, he finds a way to explore. For example, a father who stayed his whole life in his birthplace eventually enjoys to explore another country just because his son was in another country. Likewise, a man who loved eating junk food can start liking healthy food seeing his daughter or son dieting for healthy body.
Secondly, there are various digital platforms like facebook, instagram and tiktok which helps people to change their daily habits and opinions. People had a very normal lifestyle before but since the modernization people lifestyle is getting changed. A friend using a rolex watch make another friend buy same products. For example, man involved in theft saw a video of another thief getting punished and how families are badly impacted because of that made him change his behaviour. In addition, a people who used to go for a jogging every morning suddenly love to sleep.
To conclude, many families, relatives as well as social media platforms plays important role to change the daily habits and opinions of people as they get old.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your position is clear from the opening: “I completely agree,” and the response stays focused on how people’s habits and opinions can change. You give relevant examples involving family influence, moving or travelling, food choices, and social media, so the task is addressed. However, some points are more fully explained than others. The father who travels because his son lives abroad illustrates a change in outlook, but the link to getting older could be made clearer. The final jogging example is also confusing because it describes a sudden change without explaining its cause or connection to age. Develop each example with a clearer explanation of how age or life experience prompts the change.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs signposted by “First of all” and “Secondly,” and a conclusion. The examples generally follow the point being discussed, and linking expressions such as “For example” and “In addition” help guide the reader. However, cohesion is sometimes mechanical, with repeated example markers and broad transitions rather than clear links between ideas. Some references are difficult to follow, particularly “once he know what he misses” and the shift from the thief’s changed behaviour to the person who stops jogging. The conclusion also repeats the main claim without drawing together the reasons. Use clearer pronouns and explain the relationship between each example and the paragraph’s central idea.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use a range of relevant vocabulary, including “perspectives,” “influence,” “reserved,” “modernization,” and “behaviour,” which allows you to discuss social and personal change. There are also attempts to use topic-specific examples, such as “digital platforms” and “healthy food.” However, several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or unnatural, including “with their age,” “reserved thinking,” “same town life long,” and “buy same products.” Some expressions are also vague, such as “normal lifestyle” and “changed things,” which limits precision. Aim to learn common word partnerships and choose terms that express the intended meaning directly; for example, describe a person as “reluctant to leave their hometown” rather than using “reserved thinking.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including clauses introduced by “but,” “once,” and “because,” and the overall meaning is usually understandable. However, errors in verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence construction occur across the response. Examples include “It is often argue,” “which helps people,” “a people,” and “a man … can start liking … seeing his daughter.” The opening sentence also has a faulty structure: “this essay will examine … are the reasons behind this.” These errors sometimes make relationships between ideas unclear, especially in the longer examples. Practise checking subject–verb agreement and verb forms, and build complex sentences around one clear main clause. Reading each sentence aloud can help identify missing words and awkward clause connections.
