Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0

The response gives relevant personal information, including your family, education, work history, and plan to move to New Zealand. However, the task is addressed only minimally because the letter’s purpose and intended reader are not established, and the information is presented more like a short biography than a purposeful letter. For example, “I hope I will get a job there as soon as possible” does not explain what kind of work you are seeking or why you are writing to the recipient. To strengthen the response, make the reason for writing clear at the beginning, select details that serve that purpose, and develop them with relevant explanation—for instance, describe the pharmacist role you hope to find and how your experience prepares you for it.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The information follows a generally understandable order: you introduce yourself, describe your family and background, outline your work experience, and then explain your plans. This gives the response a coherent overall arrangement. However, it is presented as one continuous block, so the shifts between personal details, qualifications, and future plans are not clearly signposted. The repeated use of “and” also makes some sentences feel like lists, particularly the opening sentence. Use separate paragraphs for your introduction, qualifications and employment, and purpose or plans. Linking phrases such as “Regarding my professional background” or “As a result” could make the relationships between ideas clearer, while a suitable opening and closing would help the letter feel complete.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use enough basic vocabulary to communicate the main facts, including “Pharm-D,” “Production Pharmacist,” and “Hospital Pharmacist.” These specific terms help identify your qualifications and experience. However, the range is limited, and some phrases are awkward or imprecise, such as “4 years old experience,” “rest 2 years of experience,” and “move New Zealand.” “This is allabout me” is also informal and contains a spelling/spacing error. Aim for more natural collocations and a tone suited to the recipient: for example, “four years of experience,” “the remaining two years,” and “relocate to New Zealand.” More precise vocabulary about your career goals would also make the letter more informative.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The response communicates its main meaning through mostly simple sentence patterns, but the range of structures is limited and errors recur. The opening, “My name is Arooba Siddiqui, I am 33 years old,” joins two complete clauses with only a comma. There are also problems with verb forms and sentence construction in “I am married and having two beautiful children” and “I have completed my Pharm-D … and having 4 years old experience.” Articles and prepositions need attention in “move New Zealand” and “an Emirate of United Arab Emirate.” Try separating or correctly joining clauses, and practise consistent verb patterns such as “I am married and have two children” and “I have four years of experience.” More accurate control of these basic forms would make your meaning smoother.
