Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.0
The letter identifies the problem and gives relevant examples, including plastic bags, bottles and snack packets, then proposes a newspaper message and signs on the beach. However, it does not fully address the task: the prompt asks why you enjoy walking and where you walk, but the response only mentions a walk on the beach and gives no reason for enjoying it. The suggestions are also brief and not explained. The response is 22 words below the required minimum, which limits the opportunity to develop all three points. To improve, explain what you value about walking there, describe how widespread or damaging the litter is, and expand on practical solutions such as bins or regular clean-ups.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The ideas are generally understandable and follow a basic sequence: you introduce the litter, give examples, explain its effects, and suggest action. Connectors such as “For instance,” “Therefore” and “also” help show relationships between points. However, the response is presented as one dense paragraph, so the different purposes of the letter are not clearly separated. Some links are awkward or repetitive, particularly the move from the effects of litter to asking the newspaper to publish a message. Use separate paragraphs for your reason for writing, the problem and its effects, and your recommendations. Clearer sentence boundaries and more precise linking would make the progression easier to follow.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main issue, including “plastic bag,” “bottles,” “rubbish,” “harmful” and “responsibility.” The examples make the subject clear. However, the range is limited, and several word-choice, spelling and collocation errors are noticeable: “many litter,” “numerous type of rubbish,” “effect our overall health,” and “dig notice boards” are not natural or accurate expressions. These errors sometimes make the reader pause to interpret your meaning. Build a wider set of precise terms for litter and solutions, such as “discarded packaging,” “litter bins” and “display signs,” and check spelling and word forms before submitting.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The response communicates its main message through mostly simple sentence patterns, with an attempt to use a reason-and-result structure in “so its very harmful” and “Therefore you should publish…”. However, the range is limited, and frequent errors in sentence boundaries, agreement, articles, plurals and punctuation reduce accuracy. For example, “Last morning i was enjoying my walk” needs more accurate tense and capitalization, while “there were numerous type” has a number-agreement problem. Several sentences begin with lowercase letters, and the final sentence runs together with “beauty.and”. Practise forming accurate compound sentences and separating ideas with full stops; then proofread for capitalization, articles and singular/plural agreement.
