Student answer (Band 5.5)
Dear Sir or Madam,
I have really enjoyed walking in the countryside near my home, beacuse i really enjoyed in the morning with my friend we wake up early in the morning do jogging. We enjoy this a lot because it is really goog for our health my friend has chlastrol issues the doctor advices him to do a walk on daily basis.
But there are some problems we are facing when we do walk the litters in the streets the cans and the food packgings thrown by some people. It looks so weard on the streets.
I suggest you to remove these waste early in the morning so it becomes easy to clean or if it is possible to install some of dustbins at the side of the street it would be a great thing, because i think if these can be installed then people didn't throw the trash on the streets. I shall be thakfull to to if this is possible in the next week.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You address all three points: you explain that you walk with a friend for exercise and mention your friend’s health, describe cans and food packaging, and propose early-morning cleaning and installing bins. These details make the letter relevant, but the reasons you enjoy the countryside are not clearly developed: the response shifts between walking, jogging and the health benefit without explaining what you value about the countryside itself. The description of the litter is also brief, and the proposed solutions would be stronger with a clearer explanation of who should arrange them or how walkers could be encouraged to use bins. Develop these ideas more fully and make the purpose of writing to the newspaper explicit.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a generally understandable sequence: it begins with your walking routine, moves to the litter problem, and ends with suggestions. Paragraph breaks help distinguish these main points, and linking words such as “But” and “because” show some relationships between ideas. However, the opening sentence combines several points in a confusing way, and the transition from enjoying countryside walks to jogging and your friend’s health is not smooth. The final paragraph also joins multiple suggestions and the request to the newspaper in one long sequence. Use clearer topic sentences and separate each proposed action into a distinct sentence so the progression is easier to follow.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use enough relevant vocabulary to communicate the main topic, including “countryside,” “litter,” “cans,” “food packaging,” “waste” and “dustbins.” However, the range is limited, and several spelling and word-choice errors make the letter less clear or natural, such as “beacuse,” “goog,” “weard” and “thakfull.” Some phrases are also awkward, including “remove these waste” and “install some of dustbins.” Aim to learn accurate forms and natural combinations, such as “clear the litter” and “install bins along the path.” More precise vocabulary for the rubbish you see and the actions you recommend would make the message clearer and more effective.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt to connect ideas using clauses with “because” and “if,” and you use a range of sentence purposes, including a suggestion and a conditional proposal. However, many sentences contain errors in basic sentence structure and verb forms, which sometimes make the meaning difficult to follow. For example, “we wake up early in the morning do jogging” needs a clear verb pattern, while “people didn’t throw the trash” does not express the intended general result correctly. There are also problems with articles, agreement and punctuation, as in “some of dustbins” and the long opening sentence. Practise building accurate simple sentences first, then combine them with one well-controlled clause.
