Dear Sir or Madam,
Student answer (Band 6.0)
Dear sir
I am writing this letter to bring your attention regarding increasing unwanted materials that are thrown by individuals in the countryside.
I like to do early morning walk on regular basis near to park or ground as it is a good habit for me with the help of this habit I am not ony living healthier life but also stay away from stress along with complete my work on proper time.
From nearly two months, I seems that people are throwing their rubbish in the parks or grounds foothpaths instead of dustbins owing to this a lot of stary animal enter to the parks and eat the rubbish.
I would give you some suggestion such as install more garbage bins so walkers can throw their litter there and post some template on the trees about attention among humans along with put some penalty if some seems throwing garbage on land.
This matter brings your immediate attention.
I look forward to hearing you soon.
Yours Faithfully,
simran

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address all three points: you explain that walking in the morning supports your health and reduces stress, identify litter on paths and near bins, and propose more bins, notices, and penalties. The purpose of writing to the newspaper is clear. However, some details are less fully developed: the location is described vaguely as “near to park or ground,” and the litter itself is not specified beyond “rubbish” and “unwanted materials.” The effect on stray animals is relevant, but could be explained more clearly. To strengthen the letter, name the countryside area and give concrete examples of litter, such as bottles or food packaging, then explain how your proposed measures would help walkers change their behaviour.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The letter has a coherent overall order: its purpose comes first, followed by your walking habits, the problem, and possible solutions. This makes the main message easy to follow, and the closing is appropriate. You also use linking expressions such as “owing to this” and “along with” to connect ideas. However, some connections feel mechanical or unclear, particularly the long sentence beginning “I like to do early morning walk,” where several benefits are joined together without clear separation. Paragraphing helps distinguish the main points, but the suggestions would be easier to follow if each were expressed as a separate, clearly linked action. More precise referencing and punctuation would make the progression smoother.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use enough vocabulary to communicate the topic and purpose, including “countryside,” “rubbish,” “dustbins,” “penalty,” and “stress.” There are also attempts to use more formal expressions, such as “bring your attention” and “immediate attention.” However, several choices or combinations are inaccurate or unnatural, including “unwanted materials,” “stary animal,” and “post some template on the trees.” These make parts of the message less precise, even though the reader can generally understand your meaning. Aim for familiar, accurate collocations rather than formal-sounding phrases: for example, say “draw your attention to the problem,” “stray animals,” and “put up notices.” Check spelling and word forms carefully.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and more extended sentence forms, and the main message remains understandable. For example, you connect the litter problem to its effect on animals and use a purpose clause in “so walkers can throw their litter there.” Some grammatical errors remain, however. In “I seems that people are throwing,” the subject and verb do not agree; “I like to do early morning walk” is missing an article and has an awkward grammatical pattern; and “I look forward to hearing you soon” uses the wrong construction after “hearing.” The long sentence about your walking benefits also needs clearer punctuation and sentence boundaries. Practise accurate verb forms, articles, and standard letter expressions while varying sentence structures.
