Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You cover the main situation and explain why you enjoy walking: the hills, waterfalls and trails help you forget stress and feel calm. You also mention litter along the roads and ask the newspaper to encourage people to keep the area clean. However, the task is only partly addressed because the litter is not described in concrete terms—there are no examples such as bottles, wrappers or cans—and the proposed response remains vague. The request to publish a story is not clearly explained as a practical way to tackle the problem. Develop this suggestion and make your purpose to the newspaper clearer, while addressing each bullet point directly.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The letter has a coherent overall arrangement: you introduce the problem, describe the countryside and your walks, then make a request. Paragraphing helps the reader follow these stages, and phrases such as “But” and “since I notice” signal a change in focus. Some connections are less clear or mechanical, however. For example, “I am writing this letter formally to print an article” does not clearly explain who would write or publish the article, and the final request moves quickly from describing the village to proposing a story. Use clearer links between the litter problem and your suggested solution, and organise the closing request so its purpose is immediately understandable.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant vocabulary to convey the setting and your feelings, including “hills,” “natural waterfalls,” “trails,” “stress” and “calm my mind.” These choices make the countryside appealing to the reader. However, the range is limited in places, and noticeable spelling and word-choice errors sometimes make the message harder to understand, such as “artical,” “beauti,” “srounding” and “inispring.” The description of the litter also relies on the general word “garbage,” so it lacks precision. Build a more accurate range for the topic by naming specific rubbish and using natural expressions for protecting the countryside; check spelling and word forms carefully before submitting.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and longer sentence forms, for example, “Whenever I come for walk i forget all my stress” and the sentence describing the village’s hills and waterfalls. However, attempts at more complex structures are often faulty, and frequent errors can make the reader pause. Examples include “I start noticing from last month there is lot of garbage,” where the tense and clause structure are unclear, and “there are many trails for walk and i everyday use to walk there,” which has problems with verb form and word order. Articles, agreement and sentence boundaries also need attention. Practise forming accurate past and present-tense sentences, and use full stops to separate complete ideas.
