Student answer (Band 6.0)
Dear Sir,
I hope you are doing well
I am writing this letter with regard to the problem of garbage people throw in the park located in the countryside area
I really like walking in the Mic-Mac park located in the countryside of Brampton City.Since this park has bunch of trees and is well equiped with all facilities, I see stunning scenic views of nature from there which helps to feel relaxed.
However since few days, I have been seeing a lot of litter including food waste and plastic bags left at not only tables but also in walking lanes despite having bins there
Some actions that might help to address this issue are installing CCTV Cameras for 24/7 video survillance which will inculcate a fear among people and imposing fine for those who donot put waste materials in the bins
Yours faithfully,
Manpreet

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address all three points: you explain that you enjoy the trees and scenic views at Mic-Mac Park, identify food waste and plastic bags, and propose CCTV and fines. These are relevant ideas, but some are less fully developed than others. For example, the description of the litter is brief, and the proposed measures would be more persuasive if you explained how they could be introduced or added a practical option such as more clearly marked bins. The letter is also 6 words below the required minimum, so it needs a little more detail. The opening and closing are appropriate for a formal letter, although the required greeting is “Dear Sir or Madam,” rather than “Dear Sir,”.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The information follows a sensible order: purpose, enjoyment of the park, the litter problem, and possible solutions. The contrast introduced by “However” helps signal the shift from positive description to concern, and the final sentence clearly presents your suggestions. This gives the letter a coherent overall arrangement. To make the progression smoother, separate the ideas into clear paragraphs and use a brief closing sentence before “Yours faithfully.” Some links are also a little mechanical: the long sentence beginning “Some actions that might help” combines two proposals without much explanation of their relationship. More varied transitions and clearer paragraphing would help the letter feel more polished.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
Your vocabulary is adequate for communicating the topic, with relevant expressions such as “food waste,” “plastic bags,” “scenic views,” and “address this issue.” You also attempt more specific language, including “surveillance” and “imposing fine,” though some choices or forms are inaccurate or unnatural. For example, “garbage people throw” is less suitable in a formal letter than “litter left by visitors,” and “inculcate a fear” does not express the intended effect naturally. Spelling errors such as “equiped,” “survillance,” and “donot” also reduce accuracy. Aim for precise, natural collocations and check spelling, especially in formal vocabulary.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0
You use both simple and more complex sentence forms, including the relative clause in “the park located in the countryside of Brampton City” and the clause explaining that the views “help[] to feel relaxed.” The main message remains clear, but some grammatical errors occur. For example, “Since this park has bunch of trees” needs an article, and “imposing fine” needs a plural or an article. The sentence beginning “However since few days” also needs a more accurate time expression and punctuation. Review articles, plural forms, and sentence boundaries, and add full stops consistently. Greater control of these patterns would make your varied sentences easier to read.
