Student answer (Band 6.0)
Few individuals have a thinking that Sports Tournaments organized on World level like Olympics and Football World Cup are a good method to enhance the unity among different nations, while other group of people contradict and have different instincts on this matter that it would lead to competition and not brotherhood among nations. This essay will focus on this topic.
To commence with the advantages of organizing such bigger events on international level, It brings a sense of healthy competition among different countries. In other words, when athletes of one nation compete with the players of other countries it results in the improvement of skills of the participants as they get to compete with the people of different skill set and qualities which develops their abilities as well. Moreover this brings the culture of different countries together which makes the athletes familiar with the ways of living of different countries and make the athletes as well as the audience interested in the competition.
On the other hand, Few people believe that it also results in removing the sense of brotherhood or friendship among the countries. For example, once i went to a watch party of a cricket world cup match between india and pakistan in Dubai. The match was going peacefully and suddenly two individuals one from India and other one from Pakistan had an arguement on a very small decision which then escalated and both parties started beating each other which ruined the experience of match.
To conclude, I personally believe that these sports events should be organized on regular bases as it promotes the peace and unity among two nations at a bigger level whereas the small fights which results between specific group of people can be sorted and can be ignored seeing the benefits at a higher authority level.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The essay addresses both sides of the argument and provides a clear personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While the first body paragraph discusses the benefits of international sports, the second paragraph relies on a single, anecdotal example of a fight at a cricket match to represent the 'competition' argument. This lacks the depth required for a higher band. The conclusion is clear, but the argument could be strengthened by discussing broader geopolitical or economic factors rather than focusing solely on individual behavior at a match. The response covers all parts of the prompt but remains somewhat superficial in its analysis.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. Cohesive devices such as 'To commence with', 'Moreover', 'On the other hand', and 'To conclude' are used to guide the reader. However, some transitions feel a bit mechanical or repetitive. The referencing is generally clear, though the flow between sentences within paragraphs could be smoother. For instance, the transition from the general idea of competition to the specific example of the cricket match is a bit abrupt. Overall, the paragraphing is appropriate and the progression of ideas is logical.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but it lacks the precision and range expected at higher levels. There are some awkward phrasings, such as 'have a thinking that' and 'organized on World level'. The use of 'instincts' to describe opinions is also slightly inaccurate in this context. While the student attempts to use some topic-specific vocabulary like 'athletes', 'participants', and 'brotherhood', the overall lexical range is somewhat limited and repetitive. More sophisticated collocations and a wider variety of academic vocabulary would improve the score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical errors, such as 'Few individuals have a thinking', 'organized on regular bases', and 'the small fights which results'. The use of articles is inconsistent (e.g., 'a watch party of a cricket world cup match'). While these errors do not significantly impede communication, they occur frequently enough to prevent a higher score. The student demonstrates an attempt at complex sentences, but control over punctuation and subject-verb agreement needs improvement to reach the next band level.
