Student answer (Band 6.0)
Few individuals think that organising global sports events such as The Olympics and The football World Cup can be a great source of uniting all the nations while others believe that these can result in competition rather than friendship among nations.
I agree with the former statement and my views regarding this will be adressed in upcoming paragraphs leading to a logical conclusion.
To begin with, organising different sports event can be a great source of cultural exchange. To Explain this, players from various nations come together to play at a particular point where they can share the cultures and traditions of their country with players of other nations. for example, The Olympics is a nation wide sports event wher sports person of dift come from different nations and expand their culture and techniques of games. In Addition, such sports event create team spirit and humanity among players. for instance, in Indian premier league (IPL), players from all around the world play in a particular team which creates team spirit. Also, whenever any player faces ang injury, all players come together for help despite of their country. This creates a sense of humanity among players.
On the other hand, it can be just a competition rather than friendship. There can be conflicts among sports persons due to their agression and personal interest in the game. Few players take this personally rather than just a game which can result on the negative side. Moreover, huge amount of rewards and prises can result in this game as a competition. For example, The football World cup rewards the winning team with huge high Cash amounts such as winning team gets more than 400 crores. With this, each and every team will try their best to win the tournament in order to get the prise money.
In conclusion, Although sports tournaments can lead to conflicts as because of personal interest of players and high reward prices; I believe that these tournaments can are benificial for bringing nations together as sports persons share their cultures and techniques and it creates team spirit and humanity among players.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the prompt, discussing both perspectives and providing a clear personal opinion. The ideas are relevant, such as cultural exchange and financial incentives, though some points are slightly under-developed. For instance, the example of the IPL is used to illustrate team spirit, but the link to international unity could be more explicitly stated. The position is consistent throughout the essay, and the conclusion effectively summarizes the main arguments. To reach a higher band, ensure that examples are more directly connected to the core argument of international relations rather than just general sports dynamics.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is logically organized into clear paragraphs, each with a distinct focus. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'To begin with', 'In addition', and 'On the other hand', which help guide the reader. However, some transitions are mechanical or slightly repetitive. Referencing is generally clear, though there are minor issues with flow between sentences, such as the transition into the example about the IPL. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the different viewpoints, which contributes to the overall coherence of the response.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is adequate for the task, allowing the writer to express ideas clearly. There are some attempts at less common vocabulary, such as 'cultural exchange' and 'agression', though there are spelling errors like 'dift' and 'benificial'. Some word choices are slightly imprecise, such as 'huge high Cash amounts' or 'rewards and prises'. While the range is sufficient to convey meaning, the presence of spelling errors and occasional awkward collocations prevents a higher score. Expanding the range of synonyms and focusing on accurate spelling would improve this score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, such as 'sports event' instead of 'sports events', 'despite of' instead of 'despite', and 'can are benificial'. Punctuation is also inconsistent, with some missing commas and incorrect capitalization (e.g., 'The football World cup'). These errors do not impede communication, but they occur frequently enough to limit the score. Increasing the variety of error-free complex sentences and proofreading for basic subject-verb agreement would be beneficial.
