Student answer (Band 6.0)
It is often argued that olympics or the football World Cup events are the better way of joining public from different nations. I strongly believe that it is beneficial to build relations to other culture people to eliminate discrimination in the world. Now my essay will discuss the both sides of this view.
One major advantage of such events is that we may came in touch with different religions of people which help us to understand the values of their community. We learn lots of about their country weather or what are likely to eat. For example, If we are planning to study in Canada, we will be aware of the difficulties that we may going to face in future and we make our plans accordingly.
On the contrary, many people think this have negative impact on society because people from different country put different perspectives about the events which lead to competition, conflicts between two nations. People started to make contradictory opinions about people of other country. For instance, recently played cricket match in which players came from different countries. In the finale Pakistan defeated from India and people started to teasing pakistanis which generated the sense of taking revenge .
In conclusion, although both point of views hold strong prespectives I personally believe that by bringing different nations together is more advantageous because it builds good relations among them and they will help our nation when the situations get worse in our nation. They might be came as a supporter of our country.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a clear personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. For instance, the argument regarding cultural understanding is linked to studying in Canada, which feels tangential to the topic of international sports events. The second body paragraph attempts to discuss the negative impacts, but the example provided is anecdotal and lacks depth. To reach a higher band, you should focus on explaining the underlying reasons why sports events foster unity or conflict, rather than relying on personal or specific examples that do not fully support the broader argument.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into clear paragraphs, and there is a logical progression from the introduction to the conclusion. You use some cohesive devices, such as 'On the contrary' and 'In conclusion', to signal shifts in the argument. However, the use of linking words is sometimes mechanical or repetitive. Additionally, the referencing is occasionally unclear, such as in the phrase 'this have negative impact', where the antecedent is vague. Improving the variety of transition signals and ensuring that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence would enhance the flow and coherence of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but it lacks the precision and range required for higher bands. There are several instances of awkward phrasing, such as 'joining public from different nations' and 'came in touch with different religions of people'. Some word choices are imprecise, such as 'what are likely to eat' instead of 'culinary traditions'. While the meaning is generally clear, the lack of sophisticated vocabulary and occasional collocation errors limit the score. You should focus on learning collocations and more academic synonyms to express your ideas more naturally.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the flow. Common issues include subject-verb agreement ('this have negative impact'), incorrect verb forms ('we may came in touch', 'we may going to face'), and missing articles. While these errors do not prevent the reader from understanding your main points, they are persistent throughout the text. To improve, you should review basic verb tense consistency and the use of articles, as well as practice constructing more complex sentences with greater accuracy.
