Student answer (Band 6.0)
It is often argued that the olympics or the football World Cup are the efficient way of uniting people from other nations. I strongly believe that it is beneficial to build relations with people from other cultures to reduce the sense of discrimination globally. Now my essay will discuss the both sides of this view.
One major advantage of such events is that we may come in touch with people those have different backgrounds which supports us to become familiar with their ground values and their rituals. We may also get to know that what sorts of their perspectives regarding the players of different countries. For instance, we get the opportunity to have the knowledge about rules of games in their own country.
On the contrary, some individuals claim that by bringing them together may have some negative impacts on the society because people from other countries bring distinct thoughts about the uses of events which lead to competition, conflicts between them. As a result it generates the strong sense of rivalry. For example, I watched the cricket match on tv in which players refused to take trophy from the hand of person who belongs to Pakistan .
In conclusion, although both points hold strong opinions about this notion I personally believes that by bringing athletes from other countries together is more beneficial because it builds good relations among them and they tend to help our country when the situations get worse in our nation. They might come as a supporter of our country.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a clear personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the argument regarding the negative impacts of sports events is supported by a single, anecdotal example of a cricket match, which lacks sufficient depth or broader context. The discussion on the benefits of these events is also quite brief. To reach a higher band, you should aim to expand your supporting points with more detailed explanations or broader societal examples, ensuring that the connection between the events and the resulting international relations is more thoroughly explored.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into clear paragraphs, and there is a logical progression of ideas from the introduction to the conclusion. You use some cohesive devices, such as 'On the contrary' and 'In conclusion', to signal transitions. However, the use of linking words is sometimes mechanical or slightly unnatural, such as 'Now my essay will discuss the both sides of this view'. Additionally, some sentences feel disjointed, and the referencing is occasionally unclear, such as the use of 'them' in the second paragraph without a clear antecedent. Improving the variety and flow of your cohesive devices would enhance the overall coherence.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing you to convey your meaning clearly. You attempt to use some topic-specific vocabulary like 'discrimination', 'rituals', and 'rivalry'. However, there are instances of imprecise word choice and awkward collocations, such as 'efficient way of uniting' instead of 'effective way', and 'get the knowledge about' instead of 'gain knowledge of'. There is also a lack of less common lexical items. To improve, focus on learning more precise collocations and academic vocabulary to express your ideas with greater sophistication and accuracy.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with articles ('the olympics'), subject-verb agreement ('I personally believes'), and sentence construction ('get to know that what sorts of their perspectives'). Some sentences are also structurally awkward, such as 'by bringing them together may have some negative impacts'. While these errors do not significantly impede communication, they are frequent enough to prevent a higher score. Focusing on proofreading for basic subject-verb agreement and article usage will help improve your accuracy.
