Student answer (Band 6.0)
Sports is very important tool in today's growing world, as It helps people to stay physically and mentally healthy. In modern era, many individual believe that participating in a sports events like the Olympics and the FIFA World Cup at international level can create strong bond among the countries, while others think its just normal competition and no more than that. This essay intent to discuss both the views and state my opinion.
To begin with, competing at international sports event is not everyone cup of tea. Many sports bring countries together by collaborating or playing for charity to raise funds. For example, a sports person contribute 30 % of his winning match pay to the charitable trust for needy people or donate in the hospitals. Moreover, one team can learn plethora of techniques or discipline such as teamwork, collaboration , sportsmanship and punctuality. In the Olympics, more than 200 countries take part from which few of them achieve position in the table top. Most importantly, the Olympics host in different countries every four year and the winning teams national anthem played first this moment is very specially for the team or an individual as the achievement for their country.
On the other hand, in many other sports such as cricket and hockey has its own different views. In cricket world, some teams are very competitive towards opposite team with winning nature. For example, the rivalry between India and Pakistan, people all over the world wait for this match in every tournament. However, the situation made in which heated argument between the coach or team member ruin the impression of the country and reduce fanbase supporter over the time.
To conclude, in my opinion, playing sport at international level and with amateur player increase countries values, beliefs, self-confidence and brings proud moment in the nation. To add to this, an individual sports person deals with many people who are helpful while others are jealous from their success. In the end, as a team or an individual build his career and growth personally and professionally both.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a personal opinion, though the development is somewhat uneven. The first body paragraph focuses on the positive aspects of international sports, but the examples provided, such as '30% of winning match pay', are slightly tangential and not clearly linked to the core idea of international unity. The second body paragraph attempts to discuss the competitive aspect but lacks depth, focusing more on specific rivalries rather than the broader implications of competition versus friendship. The conclusion is a bit disconnected from the main body, introducing new ideas about individual career growth that were not previously discussed. To improve, ensure that every point directly supports the prompt's focus on international relations.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into clear paragraphs, and there is a logical progression of ideas. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'To begin with', 'Moreover', and 'On the other hand', which help guide the reader. However, some transitions feel mechanical, and the referencing is occasionally unclear, such as in the final paragraph where the link between 'amateur player' and the previous discussion is not well-established. The paragraphing is appropriate, but the internal flow within paragraphs could be smoother to better connect the supporting examples to the topic sentences.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, with some attempts at using topic-specific language like 'sportsmanship', 'collaboration', and 'rivalry'. However, there are several instances of awkward phrasing and word choice errors, such as 'everyone cup of tea' (idiomatic error), 'table top' (incorrect collocation for league tables), and 'reduce fanbase supporter'. These errors do not impede communication, but they limit the precision of the argument. To reach a higher band, focus on using more natural collocations and avoiding repetitive or slightly inaccurate word choices.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with articles ('in modern era', 'the Olympics host in different countries'), subject-verb agreement ('many individual believe'), and pluralization ('sports is very important tool'). While these errors are noticeable, they rarely prevent the reader from understanding the intended meaning. The punctuation is generally functional, but there are minor issues with spacing around commas. To improve, pay closer attention to basic grammatical rules like article usage and noun-verb agreement, which would significantly enhance the accuracy of the writing.
