Student answer (Band 5.0)
In this modern era, sports and games are very popular nowadays, like cricket, football and so on.I will explain both of the side in the bodyparagraphs.
on the one hand, some individual believe that when any world games are happening, it is best for getting all countries together, thats is right world games not only gatehring the country together its also big income of source. for example recently FIFA was happened in Canada, America and Mexico. millions of people were come in the country, they spent too much money for living and buying food and other stuff, which was benifits for the countries. Moreover, people have extremly different expireince with the other country people also they can know the culture and tradition about them.
on the other hand, some of people belive that, world cups are not make friendship its also create enemy against tbe people. thats may be true, when games are happening between two countries, it may create problems while the winning game. For example, recently one fight happene between the argertina and spain, when spain won the match, the argertina player were fighting with each others, because world cups are not getting country togethe it make the against people each others.
To conclude, i personally think while happening the games between the countries, it is making big source of income and get countries people's together, but when countries are loosing the matches it can be create some problems between the individuals.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response attempts to discuss both views regarding international sports events and gives a personal opinion, satisfying the basic prompt requirements. However, the task achievement is hindered in two distinct ways. First, the response falls short of the word count requirement, containing only 244 words against the required minimum of 250 words, which warrants a penalty. Second, the development of ideas is somewhat limited and repetitive. While the writer mentions economic benefits and cultural exchange for the first view, and conflict for the second view, the examples provided lack precise detail and depth. The conclusion summarises the main points but remains simplistic. Therefore, the response aligns best with Band 5.0 descriptors for Task Achievement due to under-development and the length penalty.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay is organised into paragraphs, including an introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion, which shows an underlying structure. However, paragraphing is poorly executed, with the introduction awkwardly combined into the first paragraph and some casing and spacing issues evident throughout the text. Cohesive devices are used, but they are often basic, repetitive, or mechanically applied, such as starting consecutive sentences and paragraphs with phrases like 'on the one hand', 'on the other hand', and 'For example'. Logical progression between ideas is occasionally disrupted by abrupt transitions and confusing referencing, making the text somewhat disjointed. These features place the response firmly at Band 5.0 for Coherence and Cohesion.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The student demonstrates a limited and minimally adequate range of vocabulary suitable for the task. Words like 'modern era', 'culture and tradition', and 'source of income' are used, but the range is narrow and frequently repetitive. There are numerous noticeable lexical errors and awkward word choices, such as 'getting all countries together', 'big income of source', 'benifits' (benefits), 'extremly different expireince', and 'loosing' (losing). Additionally, spelling errors like 'gatehring' and 'argertina' occur. While the general meaning can usually be understood, these frequent inaccuracies cause some difficulty for the reader and restrict the score to Band 5.0.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.0
The essay displays a very limited range of sentence structures, relying mostly on simple sentences joined by basic conjunctions. Attempts at complex sentences are frequently faulty, characterised by major grammatical errors, run-on structures, and awkward phrasing, such as 'when any world games are happening, it is best for getting all countries together, thats is right world games not only gatehring the country together its also big income of source'. Punctuation is weak, with missing capitalisation at the beginning of sentences ('on the one hand', 'on the other', 'To conclude') and comma splices. Frequent grammatical errors cause strain and difficulty for the reader, matching the Band 4.0 descriptors closely.
