In this contemporary era, big sports events such as world cups are hosted by many nations. It is believed by some section of soceity this kind of tournaments have positive impact on the hosting nations while, other people reckon that this approach creates a competition among different nations rather than stronger bond. From my perspective, This trend has more beneficial outcomes.

On the one hand, sometimes it causes conflict among countries. During a major tournaments, players are forced to perform extraordinary so that they can win the match. To do this, at many occassions they injure their opponents. For example, In fifa world cup matches it can be generally seen that this kind of incidents create hatred betwwen the people of the two countries. As a result, they start to each other as a rivals.

On the other hand, this events helps nations to create a amiable relationship with each other. when they play togeher, they get a chance to know each other well which strengthen their bonds. For instance, olympic games were designed to countries bring closer to one another because after the world war it was the good move. Moreover, governmental officials meet with each other in the stadium. Due to this, they talk on cruical topics such as trade to boost their economy. Therefore, this type of pivotal conversation helps both regions to expand their relationships.

In conclusion, although sports games create a competion, it has more positive outcomes that can be neglected. hence, it should be prioritized more.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses all parts of the prompt by discussing both views on international sports events and providing a clear personal opinion in the introduction and conclusion. Ideas are extended with relevant examples, such as the Olympic Games and FIFA World Cup matches. However, some ideas are slightly under-developed or generalise too broadly, such as the claim that players purposefully injure opponents to win. The position is clear throughout, and the main arguments are adequately supported, aligning well with the Band 6 descriptors.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organised into four paragraphs with a clear overall progression from introduction to body paragraphs and conclusion. Logical connectives such as 'On the one hand', 'On the other hand', and 'In conclusion' are employed to signpost the structure. However, referencing and cohesion are occasionally faulty or mechanical, as seen in phrases like 'start to each other as a rivals' and 'this events helps'. Paragraphing is used sufficiently, but overall cohesive management remains at a Band 6 level due to these mechanical slips and slightly awkward transitions.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary used is adequate for the task, permitting the student to communicate their ideas clearly. There are attempts to use less common items, such as 'contemporary era', 'pivotal conversation', and 'amiable relationship'. However, there are noticeable spelling and word-choice errors, including 'soceity' for society, 'occassions' for occasions, 'betwwen' for between, and 'competion' for competition. Because these errors do not impede communication, the performance fits comfortably within the Band 6 criteria.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The writer demonstrates a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, utilizing structures like 'It is believed by some section...' and 'when they play togeher, they get a chance...'. There are several grammatical errors and punctuation lapses, such as missing articles ('at fifa world cup', 'after world war'), incorrect prepositions ('talk on cruical topics'), and minor capitalization issues. Additionally, fragments like 'that can be neglected' in the final sentence distort the intended meaning slightly. These errors occasionally cause difficulty for the reader, placing the response at a Band 5.5.
