Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0
The response is severely under-length, containing only 71 words against the required minimum of 250 words. As a result, the task is only partially addressed, and the ideas introduced in the introduction cannot be developed. The writer attempts to outline both views and mentions an opinion, but the essay cuts off mid-sentence in the second paragraph ('International sports can brings some benefits to countries, for example, income because people want to support their team, moreover...'). According to official descriptors, responses that are significantly under-length cannot progress beyond Band 4 for Task Achievement, as the prompt is not fully met and ideas are left entirely undeveloped.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 4.0
The text features basic paragraphing, separating the introduction from the opening of the body paragraph. However, because the text stops abruptly at 71 words, it is impossible to evaluate overall progression or the proper use of cohesive devices throughout a full essay. Within the limited text produced, cohesive devices are attempted ('whislt', 'moreover'), but referencing and overall logical structure are incomplete. The disjointed flow and fragmented ending restrict the coherence score to a Band 4 level, as information and ideas are not arranged in a coherent whole.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The student attempts some topic-specific vocabulary such as 'integration', 'partnership', and 'competition'. However, there are multiple spelling and word-choice errors throughout the short text, including 'olympics' (capitalisation), 'Worl' (World), 'motive' (motivate), 'parnetship' (partnership), and 'whislt' (whilst). The vocabulary is generally basic and repetitive, and these noticeable mechanical errors begin to affect readability. This performance aligns with the Band 5 descriptor, which reflects a limited range of vocabulary with frequent errors.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.0
The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, such as the introductory complex clause 'International sports events such as... are events that motive...'. However, there are fundamental grammatical errors, including subject-verb agreement issues ('International sports can brings') and fragmented sentence structures where independent clauses are incorrectly punctuated as separate sentences ('whislt some population thinks this kind of events brind competion and not friendship between countries. This essay will discuss...'). These frequent errors and the inability to complete sentences lower the grammar score to a Band 4.
