Student answer (Band 5.0)
Some people believe that international sports events, such as The Olympics or the Football World Cup, are a good way to bring countries together. Others say that these events create competition, not friendship, between countries. In my opinion, the olympics or the football World Cup bringing people from different culture together through a shared love of sport.
Athletes and supporters from different countries and nations meet, share experience and learn about one another culture. Athletes often encourage another players and they make competion between the two nations. If athletes feel any inconvience in previous countries matches while The Olympics, They explain that to another players. In addition they also discuss and share about what made them to become Athletes and how tough the journey.Taking all this points in consideration I feel that international sports events, The Olympics or the Football World Cup, are a good way to bring countries together.
I want to share example about Fans feel a strong sense of national pride and always want their country to win.My friends from india who are very much instrested in bettings regarding matches like some individuals support team one from one country and another support team two. In additon they invest lots of money for betting however, depending on the match so people win and some may loose money. Along with this some do not accept loosing match they fight with opposite persons it creates competition between people.Considering all these situations which is happened infront of me I also agree that The Olympics or the Football World Cup events may create competition, not friendship, between countries.
In conclusion, international sports events, such as The Olympics or the Football World Cup, are a good way to bring countries together and also, these events create competition, not friendship, between countries.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses both views outlined in the prompt, discussing how sports events bring countries together and how they create competition and conflict. However, the student's own opinion is somewhat confused. The thesis statement in the introduction lacks a main verb ("the olympics or the football World Cup bringing people from different culture together"), and the conclusion contradicts itself by stating that international sports events both unite countries and create competition without clearly siding with one viewpoint. The ideas are relevant, such as athletes sharing experiences and fans engaging in betting and fighting, but they are underdeveloped and lack sufficient depth and clarity. This performance aligns with Band 5.0.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The text is organized into paragraphs with an introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion, showing some overall organizational structure. However, there is a lack of clear progression between sentences, and cohesive devices are often mechanical, inaccurate, or missing entirely (e.g., "If athletes feel any inconvience in previous countries matches while The Olympics, They explain that to another players"). Paragraphing is attempted, but the grouping of ideas lacks smooth logical transitions. Referencing is also confusing at times, which makes the flow disjointed for the reader. This performance aligns with Band 5.0.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The student uses a limited but minimally adequate range of vocabulary for the task, including words like "athletes", "supporters", "national pride", and "betting". However, there are noticeable errors in word choice, form, and spelling throughout the response, such as "inconvience", "compotion", "instrested", and "loosing" instead of losing. These lexical limitations and errors occasionally cause difficulty for the reader and prevent the student from achieving a higher band. This performance aligns with Band 5.0.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.5
The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, but control over grammar and punctuation is weak. There are frequent grammatical errors, such as missing verbs in main clauses ("the olympics or the football World Cup bringing people"), incorrect prepositions, and improper capitalization (e.g., "india"). Run-on sentences and punctuation slips are common, such as "My friends from india who are very much instrested in bettings regarding matches like some individuals support team one from one country and another support team two." These frequent errors cause difficulty for the reader. This performance aligns with Band 4.5.
