Student answer (Band 5.5)
Popularity of sports has been significantly increased across the world. It is often argued that international sports events like The Olympics and The Football World Cup bring togetherness among the different nations, whereas others believe this is just a competition and help the countries to bring together. In my perspective, World level physical activities are help to strong the relations between the different nations. I will discuss both views in upcomping paragraphs.
On one side, International events either its sports or any other competition, this always bring the nations together and build the good relation among the nations. For example, The Football World Cup in which whole world's football teams participate and the spectators visit to the hosting nation which helps them to observe the culture of hosting country and meet the local citizens which is a good step to build good relations among them.Consequently, this will not only builds the good relations but also boost the economy of the hosting country.
On the flip side, some individuals believe that these types of events create the competition between countries not helps to bring the nations together.Player always come with the sportsman spirit not to build relations with the players on the ground. When they are in the ground they just see as a competition in front of them.Out side the game they may become friends. For instance, a recent cricket league between India and Afghanistan,On ground they are rivelries; however, beside that players are sharing food and enjoy together at night.Consequently, Competition is only on the ground not all the time.
To recapitulate, I reiterate that sports events help the nations to bring them together. On ground they saw each others as a compeititor not friends.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the task by discussing both views on international sports events and providing a clear personal opinion. The writer establishes a position in the introduction ('In my perspective, World level physical activities are help to strong the relations') and maintains it throughout. Ideas are presented and supported with examples, such as the mention of The Football World Cup and an India-Afghanistan cricket match. However, some arguments lack full extension and suffer from slight contradictions or repetitive phrasing (e.g., stating in the counter-argument that competition is the main factor, yet illustrating that players still bond off the field). Overall, the task is adequately covered, aligning well with the Band 6 descriptors.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay displays a coherent overall arrangement with a recognizable introduction, body paragraphs, and a concluding summary. Paragraphing is utilized to separate the distinct viewpoints. However, cohesion is sometimes faulty or mechanical. There are noticeable issues with punctuation spacing, missing spaces after periods, and awkward transitions (e.g., 'On one side', 'On the flip side', 'To recapitulate, I reiterate'). Referencing is occasionally unclear, such as the pronoun use in 'help the countries to bring together' and 'either its sports'. While progression is discernible, the cohesive devices are sometimes clumsy, placing this securely at Band 6.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The student uses an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting some less common items such as 'spectators', 'hosting nation', and 'sportsman spirit'. However, there are frequent word-choice and collocation errors that indicate strain, such as 'bring togetherness', 'help to strong the relations', 'upcomping paragraphs', and 'rivelries' instead of 'rivalries'. Spelling errors also occur, but they generally do not impede overall communication. Because the lexical control is limited by frequent inaccuracies in word formation and collocation, the performance fits the Band 5 descriptor.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, incorporating relative clauses and conditional structures. However, grammatical accuracy is weak. There are frequent errors in verb forms, tense consistency, and prepositions, such as 'Popularity of sports has been significantly increased', 'activities are help to strong', 'either its sports', and 'When they are in the ground'. Punctuation is also problematic, particularly with missing spaces after periods and commas. Although communication is rarely completely obscured, the high frequency of errors across basic and complex structures prevents the essay from reaching a Band 6.
