Student answer (Band 6.0)
Experiencing international sports events and viewing different global matches, has always been a nostalgic feeling for all the sports' lovers. Meanwhile, whether the events like The Olympics and Football World Cup actually create cross-border friendships, or mere competition between nations, has garnered a significant debate. I, however, find these global opportunities to be a way to brotherhood which will be explained in the following writing after discussing both stances.
There is no denying the fact that a single thing can be visualized from different perceptions. Nevertheless, the chance for players to perform worldwide along with numerous potential players across the globe, ought not to be neglected. This stems from the fact that these players are representing their country at the international stage, and is a good way to form relationships with other nations. If a sportsperson is genuine, he/she definitely know that what real sportsmanship is; it is not about borders, but about authenticity. Consequently, the urge to utilize this opportunity to bring their home nation close to other partner countries.
Refering the later notion, this may be true to some extent that these events create competition, nonetheless it is for the sake of good only. Under the competitiveness, athletes will practice even more beyong their ability which would further enhance their strength and overall game. Opposing the viewpoint that the events do not foster friendship, I am of the opinion that this is not the case. While rivarly is everywhere, the games only enrorage love, faith, and most importantly, the sportsmanship.
Evaluating both notions, I strongly think these athletic ceremonies to be a celebrated part of players' journey, leading to novice opportunities personally as well as professionaly.
To encapsulate, although the global competitive events create a certain degree of rivarly, but the positive points of the same are irrefutable because they encorage cross- border relationships, skill increment, and am exposure to global sports.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response successfully addresses all parts of the prompt by discussing both views on international sports events—whether they foster global friendship or simply create competition—and clearly stating the writer's own opinion in the introduction and conclusion. Ideas are relevant, such as the mention of athletes representing their countries and the idea that competition can enhance performance. However, some arguments lack full development and clarity. For instance, the sentence starting with 'Consequently, the urge to utilize this opportunity...' is grammatically incomplete and leaves the supporting idea underdeveloped. Despite these minor lapses in extension, the writer maintains a clear position throughout and covers all requirements of the task adequately, aligning well with the Band 6.5 to 7.0 profile. A band score of 6.5 is awarded.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay displays a coherent overall arrangement with a logical progression of ideas from introduction to body paragraphs and conclusion. Paragraphing is used sufficiently to separate the different aspects of the prompt. However, cohesion at the sentence level is occasionally faulty or mechanical. For example, the transition 'Refering the later notion' contains a spelling error and awkward phrasing, and referencing is sometimes unclear, such as pronoun ambiguity with 'he/she definitely know' and 'it'. Furthermore, logical connectors are sometimes over-used or unnatural, such as 'To encapsulate, although the global competitive events create a certain degree of rivarly, but...'. Overall, the organization is clear enough to follow without difficulty, matching the criteria for Band 6.0.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The writer demonstrates an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting some less common lexical items such as 'nostalgic', 'garnered a significant debate', 'sportsmanship', and 'authenticity'. However, there are notable inaccuracies in word choice, spelling, and collocation. Examples include 'Refering the later notion' instead of 'Referring to the latter notion', 'beyong' instead of 'beyond', 'enrorage' instead of 'encourage', 'novice opportunities' instead of 'novel opportunities', and 'skill increment' instead of 'skill enhancement'. These errors occasionally distract the reader, though they do not impede overall communication. The lexical resource sits firmly within the Band 6.0 descriptor.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The student attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating some ambition with structures such as 'While rivarly is everywhere, the games only enrorage love...'. However, grammatical accuracy is inconsistent. There are several noticeable errors, including subject-verb agreement issues ('sports' lovers', 'he/she definitely know'), fragment or incomplete clause structures ('Consequently, the urge to utilize this opportunity to bring their home nation close to other partner countries.'), and punctuation or preposition errors. While these errors do not completely obscure meaning, they occur frequently enough to prevent the response from achieving a higher band. This performance reflects the characteristics of Band 6.0.
