Student answer (Band 6.0)
Sports play an crucial role to unite various nations when players take part in the international sports programs. Although sports person plays in opposite teams, they get an opportunity to communicate with other team members and to become friends. However, it brings competitive spirit among the players. In my prospective, it is a positive approach to create a friendly environment worldwide.
On the one hand, players get a chance to meet citizens of different nations, share their ideas, and grasp knowledge about their culture. It helps to improve their relations when they talk with each other. For instance, India had organized a international cricket tournament in Mumbai, players from various countries had took participation in that competition. They telecasted it online, everyone could see the understanding among the all participants who belongs to other countries. Thus, it ehances the cooperation between the countries. Furthermore, it leads to build relations between audience from many countries. They get together at one place and cheers to all partcipants together. It creates a bonding between them without any racism. Eventually, people meets each other because of Olympics or other tournaments.
On the other hand, people try to prove their country superier in comparison of other countries. That creates more rival spirit rather than making friends. They judge other by their appearance, language and, behaviour. Therefore, the relation between countries become more competitive instead of showing respect for others. Moreover, since the main aim of players is to win the game, they neglect other aspects such as showing love and respect for other team members. As a result, they leave the playground after playing as the competitors.
In conclusion, games are the platform to gather people on one place where they can interact with each other. It creates healthy relations if players and audience understand the real concept. In my point of view, people learn the social skills by performing in international games and watching the games.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the task by discussing both views—that international sports bring countries together and that they create competition rather than friendship—and includes a clear personal opinion in the introduction and conclusion. The ideas are generally relevant, but some points are slightly under-developed or supported with weak generalisations, such as the example regarding the cricket tournament in Mumbai. While the position is clear throughout, the extension of ideas could be more robust to reach higher band levels. Therefore, it satisfies the requirements for a Band 6.0.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The essay has a coherent overall arrangement with clear paragraphing, separating the introduction, the two body paragraphs representing opposing views, and the conclusion. However, cohesion is sometimes faulty or mechanical. For instance, transitional phrases like 'On the one hand' and 'On the other hand' are used, but referencing is occasionally unclear, such as 'They telecasted it online' where the pronoun antecedent is ambiguous. Additionally, some sentences within paragraphs feel slightly disjointed in their logical progression, placing this criterion at a Band 6.0.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
The student uses an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting some less common items such as 'cooperation', 'competitive spirit', and 'interaction'. However, there are noticeable word-choice, spelling, and collocation errors throughout the text. Examples include 'play an crucial role' (instead of 'a crucial role'), 'sports person' (instead of 'sportspersons' or 'athletes'), 'ehances' (spelling error for 'enhances'), 'partcipants' (spelling error), and 'superier' (spelling error for 'superior'). These errors do not impede communication, placing the vocabulary performance firmly at Band 6.0.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The response demonstrates a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, such as conditional and concessive clauses ('Although sports person plays in opposite teams, they get an opportunity...'). However, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with subject-verb agreement and verb forms, including 'sports person plays' (instead of 'sportspersons play'), 'players from various countries had took participation' (instead of 'took part'), 'people meets' (instead of 'people meet'), and 'relation between countries become' (instead of 'becomes'). Although these errors do not prevent understanding, they occur frequently enough to restrict the score to a Band 5.0.
