Student answer (Band 5.5)

There is ongoing debate whether oversea sports events is a better way to united the nations or others thinks that this things ruin friendship and gain more competition amoung countries. I personally feel these sports event make people more together than create revange.

On the one hand, people are more likely to enjoy sports matches all around the world. people are so enthusiast towards sports as harvard unninversity research people spend alot of money to go another nation to just see their country playing match and support their countries team. While, going to other oversea this thing help them to know about their culters as well as it might bring some boost in countries economy.

On the second hand, there are some chances that in few conditons that countries fade their relationships such as it tend to create a big competition in between them on the gobal level and these effects are shown as increase their import and export teriffs. Take an example of soccor match 2017, match between Spain and US. this match wins by spain against US then after the some days US aurthorties put a heavy Tariff on the spain just to take revenge of soccor match. These kind of senerio might put detrimental impacts on nations relationship.

To conclude, i personally feel more inclinded with these international sports matches bring more love and more understading between two countries. This might be can united the nations and help them to build more peace between along with economy by organising sports events in all around the world.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You address both views and state your opinion clearly: you argue that international events bring people together, while acknowledging that competition can harm relations. The first body paragraph gives relevant benefits, including cultural exchange and economic gains. However, the supporting ideas are not consistently convincing or developed. The claim that a football result led US authorities to impose tariffs on Spain is presented as fact but needs a reliable, plausible explanation; as written, it weakens the argument. The opposing view is also treated briefly, mainly as competition and tariffs, without explaining how sporting rivalry itself might damage friendship. Develop each side with clearer reasoning and credible examples, and make sure your conclusion follows from the discussion.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, two paragraphs presenting contrasting views, and a conclusion. The signposts “On the one hand,” “On the second hand,” and “To conclude” help readers follow the broad direction. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes unclear, and some links feel mechanical or inaccurate. For example, “While, going to other oversea this thing…” does not connect smoothly to the preceding point, while the shift from a football match to tariffs needs a clearer explanation. References such as “these effects” and “this thing” are also vague. Use topic sentences that state each paragraph’s main point, then connect examples explicitly to that point and vary linking expressions naturally.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You attempt vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “competition,” “relationships,” “economy,” and “detrimental impacts.” However, the range is limited and frequent spelling, word-form, and collocation problems sometimes make meaning difficult to follow. Examples include “oversea sports events,” “ruin friendship,” “gain more competition,” and “more together”; these are not natural expressions in this context. There are also misspellings such as “amoung,” “culters,” and “senerio,” which reduce accuracy. Build a bank of topic-specific phrases and check spelling and collocations carefully. Prefer precise expressions such as “international sporting events,” “damage diplomatic relations,” and “foster mutual understanding” rather than translating ideas word by word.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a conditional idea in “This might be can united the nations” and a relative clause in “research people spend…”. However, many sentence structures are faulty, and errors in agreement, verb forms, articles, and sentence boundaries can make the reader work to understand your meaning. For instance, “sports events is” has a subject–verb agreement problem, and “people are so enthusiast” uses an incorrect grammatical form. The opening sentence also combines several ideas without a clear grammatical structure. Practise building accurate simple sentences first, then add subordinate clauses. Check that subjects and verbs agree and that each sentence has a complete, clearly punctuated structure.
