Student answer (Band 5.5)
Some people opine that international sports events is one of the best ways to grow relations between different countries, whereas others postulate that due to these instead of friendship, competition will be created between countries. In the forthcoming paragraphs, I have discussed both the views with suitable justification, and also I have stated my opinion at the end.
On the one hand, global sport events like Olympics, cricket or FIFA can minimize the differences between different cultures, providing a better platform to start new relation between countries. It is beneficial for not only the economy of both the countries but also it will widen the future opportunities for the citizens. Such interactions will improve world: wide businesses like import-export - completing countries requirements, job opportunities in sectors like IT, Medical and migration processes for students, employees or tourists, creating a safe environment.
On the other hand, such events will be lighten up the past rivelry between various countries due to intence competition which will directly affects the every aspects of global interaction between such countries. For instence, the cricket compitition between India and Pakistan is one of the suitable example for this situation. If this competition increases, it may end up in terrorist attacks or creating a war zone between countries.
In my opinion, creating friendship is much more beneficial for both the countries. As it is totally depend on higher authorities and goverment of the countries. Results of competition may create a lifelong misunderstanding, but such events will also comes with the advantages by creating a good friendship between both countries.
To conclude, organizing world wide sports events have both advantages and disadvantages such as opportunities of different job in various sectors and maintaining business to improvise countries economy. However, terrorist attacks and chances of starting world war are the negative side of this.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You address both views and give a personal preference for friendship, so the response is relevant to the question. The first body paragraph links sporting events with cultural contact, business and employment, while the second gives India–Pakistan cricket as an example of rivalry. However, the discussion is only partly developed: the connection between sporting contact and outcomes such as migration or trade is asserted rather than explained, and the claim that competition could lead to terrorist attacks or war is not supported. Your position also becomes less clear in the conclusion, which lists advantages and disadvantages without firmly resolving which view you support. Explain each side with a specific, credible example and maintain a consistent opinion throughout.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall shape: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, a paragraph stating your opinion, and a conclusion. Signposts such as “On the one hand,” “On the other hand,” and “To conclude” make the progression easy to follow. This meets the lower-band expectation of coherent organisation and shows some flexibility in paragraphing. However, links between ideas within paragraphs are sometimes abrupt: the move from cultural differences to trade, jobs and migration is not fully explained, and the conclusion repeats points rather than synthesising the discussion. Some references, such as “these” in the introduction, are not fully clear. Use more explicit links to show how each example supports the main point, and make the final paragraph directly reinforce your stated position.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You attempt a range of topic-related vocabulary, including “international sports events,” “global interaction,” “rivalry,” and “opportunities,” and the reader can generally understand your intended meaning. There are also attempts at less common or formal wording, such as “postulate” and “suitable justification.” However, several choices are inaccurate or unnatural, including “lighten up the past rivalry,” “world: wide businesses,” and “improvise countries economy.” Spelling errors such as “intence,” “instence,” and “compitition” are noticeable and sometimes slow the reader. Aim for precise, natural collocations rather than formal-sounding words used uncertainly; check spelling carefully and choose vocabulary that expresses the relationship between ideas clearly.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including the opening contrast with “whereas” and the sentence beginning “As it is totally depend on…”. However, complex structures are often faulty, and errors occur frequently enough to make some sentences difficult to process. For example, “international sports events is” has a subject–verb agreement error, “it will be lighten up” has an incorrect verb construction, and “the every aspects” has an article and word-order problem. There are also errors in verb forms and agreement in “competition increases” and “events will also comes.” Practise building accurate sentences with one main clause and a subordinate clause, then check agreement, verb forms, articles and punctuation before adding further complexity.
