Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0

You state a clear opinion in favour of international sports events bringing countries together, and you begin to explain this through communication and a cricket World Cup example. However, the response addresses the task only minimally: the opposing view—that events can create competition rather than friendship—is mentioned in the introduction but not explained, and your own view is not developed with enough reasons or support. The first supporting point is also unfinished, ending with “Moreover,” so the discussion remains incomplete. In addition, the response does not meet the required minimum length, which substantially limits how fully you can discuss both views. Develop each side in a separate paragraph, explain how competition may arise, and add specific examples before concluding.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

There is a basic attempt to organise the response: an introductory paragraph gives your position, followed by a paragraph beginning “To embark upon” that starts to present a reason. This gives the reader some sense of direction. However, there is no clear overall progression because the discussion stops before the opposing view, further support, or a conclusion appears. Linking expressions such as “First” and “For instance” are relevant, but the paragraph ends abruptly with “Moreover,” rather than completing the point or moving clearly to another one. Some connections are also difficult to follow, particularly the sentence about individuals in “both places” coming together. Use a complete paragraph structure for each view, connect examples explicitly to the claim, and finish with a concise conclusion.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You attempt some topic-relevant vocabulary, including “international sports events,” “competition,” “friendship,” and “communicate,” and phrases such as “myriad of reasons” show an effort to use less common language. However, the range is limited in this short response, and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate or unnatural, such as “encourage countries together,” “competition spirits,” and “a group of section.” Spelling errors, including “aggreement” and “Morever,” also reduce accuracy. These issues do not make the general topic impossible to understand, but they make parts of the argument less clear and fluent. Aim for precise collocations such as “bring countries together” and “foster a spirit of competition,” and check spelling and word forms carefully.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more extended sentence forms, including a sentence beginning “During the event” and a reason clause introduced by “owing to which.” However, the range is limited, and errors occur frequently enough to affect clarity. For example, “these events causes” has a subject–verb agreement error, while “every individuals … are come together” has problems with number and verb form. Articles and sentence boundaries also need attention: “It is a irrefutable fact” and “together.A group” are not correctly formed or punctuated. Practise building accurate sentences with a clear subject and verb, and check agreement, articles, and punctuation before adding more complex clauses. Greater control of basic structures will make your ideas easier to follow.
