Student answer (Band 5.5)

some people believe that organising international sports event like olympics or football is very banificial for the country because by doing these exercises nations improve thier relationships or frindship eith the other native countries. while others are on the view that orgnising these kind of events is generate the sense of jealousy between two countries. I am going to discus both the views in the upcoming peragraphs and discus both the view and give my opinion at the end.

on the one hand, group of people believe that international sports game is very helpfull to generate a strong and positive relationship between two diffrent country because playera from diffrent background and from diffrent countries share their thoughts and opinions during the sports events and they can understand eacth other more closely. for example, a recent survey conducted by university of california say that the nations who conduct international sports events have higher chances to maintain healthy relationship with other countries as compare to those who do not orgnise these kind of events

on the other hand, others are in the view that these kind of event is useless they do not helpfull at all to create harmony between nation instead of that it creates jealousy and opinion diffrences umong the player and people of diffrent countries. sometime player or participants share thier idias and opinions to each other and they do not agree with each other so it creates clashes not only in the games but also outside outside the playground in the real world.

To conclude, organising sports even is very popular exercise in this days and diffrent people have diffrent opinion on it but i strongly believe that orgnising these kind of events maintain healthy relation with the other nation and better understanding with the other countries.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You address both views and state a clear preference in the conclusion: you believe international events can maintain healthy relations and improve understanding. The first body paragraph gives a relevant explanation about athletes sharing ideas, while the second describes how disagreements may lead to clashes. However, the discussion is only partly developed: the claim that events create jealousy is asserted more than explained, and the example of a survey is vague and unsupported. The introduction also promises to give your opinion “at the end,” so your position is not clear until the conclusion. Develop each side with a specific, credible example and explain how it supports the point.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, one paragraph for each view, and a conclusion. The signposts “on the one hand,” “on the other hand,” and “To conclude” help readers follow the discussion. However, some linking is mechanical, and the introduction repeats its purpose by saying it will “discus both the view” twice. Connections within the body paragraphs are less clear: the move from players sharing opinions to clashes outside the playground needs a more explicit explanation. Some references, such as “these kind of events,” are also not consistently clear in number. Use fewer formulaic announcements and build each paragraph around a clear point followed by explanation and an example.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “international sports events,” “positive relationship,” “harmony,” and “jealousy,” so the main ideas are generally understandable. However, the range is limited and several phrases are repeated, particularly “these kind of events” and “other countries.” There are also frequent spelling errors, such as “banificial,” “thier,” “frindship,” and “diffrent,” alongside inaccurate or unnatural word choices such as “sports exercises” and “native countries.” These errors make the writing less precise and can slow the reader. Build a bank of accurate collocations for this topic and proofread spelling; for example, use “host an event” and “foster international relations.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more extended sentences, including a reason clause beginning “because” and a contrast introduced by “while.” This shows some willingness to vary sentence structure. However, control is inconsistent, and errors in sentence formation, agreement, articles, and punctuation sometimes make the meaning harder to follow. For example, “organising these kind of events is generate” combines incompatible verb forms, while “international sports game is” has a singular subject where the discussion is general. Several sentences run on without clear punctuation, especially in the introduction and the paragraph about conflict. Practise accurate subject–verb patterns and use full stops to separate complete ideas before attempting longer sentences.
