Student answer (Band 5.5)

Few masses think that international games, like as Olympics and Football World Cup, are best thing to increase brotherhood feelings in all nations. However, Others argue that this can spread conflict and competition between them. I will discuss both aspects in the forthcoming paragraphs before embarking on my point of view.

To begin with former view, friendliness and culture information. To make it clear, athlets travel from one country to another country and they have golden chance to not only make friends from different backgrounds but also explore various culture. For example, a Times Thoms Newspaper had headline in 2015 that they discovered, during a gaming season mostly people who came to enjoy Olympics were more interested to explore culture and souvenir shopping. Hence, it also increase the productivity of foriegn countires and brotherhood feelings between the all nations.

Moving to later view, tension and rivalry could increase. To explicate it, bpth teams represting their countries while playing and no one wants to lag their country behind so sometime this feeling could turn into rivalry and which not only make aggrssive to players but also supporters too. For example, when audience cheeres their teams then sometimes they started to bully each other this statement was given buy chardikala time tv during Football World Cup and turned into serious conflict. As a result, this create a non beneficial impact and create tension between naitons.

In conclusion, although it could trigger to conflict and rivarly in distinctive nations yet, in my point of view games such as Olympics and Football World Cup is best way to bring all countries together and create peace in world.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address both views and give a clear opinion in the conclusion: you acknowledge that events can create rivalry, but argue they are a way to bring countries together. The two body paragraphs also offer relevant reasons, including cultural exchange and tension among players and supporters. This covers the task, although some points are more fully addressed than others. The first paragraph focuses mainly on visitors exploring culture and shopping, rather than explaining how the events build friendship between countries more broadly. The conflict example is also asserted rather than clearly explained. Develop each main idea with a specific, credible example and show more explicitly how it supports the view being discussed.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, one paragraph for each view, and a conclusion that restates your position. The progression from cultural exchange to rivalry is easy to follow, and signposts such as “To begin with,” “Moving to,” and “In conclusion” help guide the reader. This is a strong foundation, with some features of more flexible organisation. However, several transitions sound formulaic, and some links between ideas are unclear—for example, the move from souvenir shopping to increased productivity and brotherhood. The phrase “this statement was given” also interrupts the flow of the conflict example. Use clearer cause-and-effect links and connect each example directly to the paragraph’s main point.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You attempt a range of topic-related vocabulary, including “brotherhood,” “rivalry,” “aggressive,” and “conflict,” and the reader can generally understand your main ideas. However, the range is limited by repeated or imprecise expressions, and noticeable spelling and word-choice errors sometimes make the message harder to follow. Examples include “Few masses,” “gaming season,” “non beneficial impact,” and misspellings such as “athlets” and “naitons.” Some combinations are also unnatural, such as “increase brotherhood feelings.” Aim for accurate, natural collocations rather than choosing more elaborate wording; proofreading spelling and checking phrases in context will make your vocabulary more effective.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You use both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a contrast in the introduction and a “not only … but also” construction in the first body paragraph. These attempts help you explain causes and consequences. However, complex sentences are often not controlled accurately, and errors in agreement, articles, verb forms, and sentence construction sometimes make the reader pause. For example, “it also increase” should have subject–verb agreement, while “this create” needs a matching verb form. The sentence beginning “To begin with former view” is also incomplete as written. Practise building complete sentences with a clear subject and verb, then check agreement and articles before adding extra clauses.
