Student answer (Band 5.5)

Sports events like FIFA and Olympics is a major part of the sports world, through these events many of the nations come together for sports. Some individuals believe that these sports impact on players as well as on countries. Other argue that it is the good way to bring multi nations under one roof. I reckon that these events play great role to combine nations in the way of sports.

One set of the society believe that, these big events create the competiton of winning the title rather than playing fair game. Some of the matches like hockey and football is played with great aggresion which lead to conflicts and non sprotsman spirit. For instance, in 2016 hockey world cup, there was match between Pakistan and India and in that match both the teams got into a fight which lead by some of the injuries to the playes and that match got cancled by the officials.

Other part of the community think that, these major sprots competitions create bond between coutries, because many nations comes together to take part in these such big events, by this they believe it makes good friendship between the nations and players. Moreover, these events give the opportunity to all nations to take part in it. The last FIFA world cup had a great example of it , in that event 23 coutries took particpeation and ended up with great colours. That event shows the unity and the affords of the team players to win the title. All the countries came together to sucess the event.

In my opinion, I believe that these events plays vital role in society, it bring the nations together in the sence of game and share the traditions and culture with many other countries which is good way of sharing . It is also create the friendship between new participents and nations.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You address both views and state your position: you argue that international events bring nations together, while also noting that competition can lead to conflict. The Pakistan–India match example supports the opposing view, and the World Cup paragraph explains how participation may encourage unity. However, the discussion is only partly developed. The conflict example is presented as a single incident, without explaining how it represents a wider effect of international competition, and the unity argument relies mainly on countries taking part together. Your opinion is clear in the introduction and conclusion, but the reasons for it are repeated rather than extended. Develop each side with a fuller explanation and a relevant, accurate example.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a concluding opinion. This helps the reader follow the broad direction of the discussion. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes unclear, and linking phrases can feel mechanical or imprecise. For example, “Other part of the community think” introduces the second view, but the paragraph then moves from participation to friendship and the number of countries without clearly connecting those points. The conclusion repeats ideas from the introduction rather than drawing the discussion together. Use clearer topic sentences, explain how each example supports its point, and vary linking expressions while making references such as “these events” unambiguous.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use relevant topic vocabulary, including “competition,” “conflicts,” “traditions and culture,” and “participation,” so the main ideas are generally understandable. However, the range is limited and several inaccurate or misspelled expressions make the writing less clear, such as “non sprotsman spirit,” “ended up with great colours,” and “to sucess the event.” Some phrases are also unnatural, including “sports impact on players” and “combine nations in the way of sports.” Aim for more precise collocations and check spelling carefully. Replacing repeated general terms such as “big events” with specific alternatives, and choosing natural phrases for unity, rivalry, and participation, would make your argument more fluent and exact.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and longer sentences, including clauses with “because” and “which,” but complex structures are often faulty, and errors occur frequently enough to make some sentences difficult to read. Subject–verb agreement is a recurring issue: “these events plays” and “many nations comes” should use plural verb forms. There are also problems with articles and sentence construction, as in “there was match” and “it is also create the friendship.” Punctuation is sometimes awkward, particularly the comma after introductory phrases such as “One set of the society believe that,”. Practise accurate basic sentence patterns first, then build longer sentences while checking agreement, articles, and verb forms.
