Student answer (Band 5.5)
In today's era, Sports play an essential role in everyone's life. Some individuals argue that relationship are increase by organizing different events , for instance the FIFA footbal world cup or Olympics games. While, others think that such type of sports create more competition than friendships. This essay will further discuss both views and thus will lead to a logical conclusion.
To begin with, when one country gives business to another country, automatically their relationship become stronger. In addition, there is a only one easiest way of doing is the sports. whenever one country hosting a olympics event and they gives premium treatment to another countries player such as good hotes, food and transport.Therfore , another country like to do more business with this type of countries . Secondly, in big events all the nation want to participate and show everyone their country strenth. For example, if two countries such as india and pakistan they did not have good relationship but when they start to play cricket together now they both countries are doing lot of business together.
On the other hand, there is a some problem when any one countries player are nor performing well or when the competition are so strong between them. This is because no body can see if their country is keep loosing every time. Hence, intsead of friend they start to become devil. Finally, which put those country in bad situation. According to the bbc news, Usa and Qatar has best friendship all over the world but when America loose his football match last year in qatar they think that qatar purposally did something bad with the ground. after that they both countries business deals were cancelled.
Overall, I firmly believe that Fifa world cup and other olympics games always bring countries together and all the countries friendship are increasing by participating in such type of games.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You address both views and state a clear preference in the conclusion: you believe international sports events bring countries together. The first body paragraph gives reasons involving hospitality and business, while the second explains how losing can create resentment. However, the discussion is only partly developed. The link between hosting an event and increased business is asserted rather than explained, and the India–Pakistan example does not clearly show how playing sport led to stronger relations. The claim about the United States and Qatar is also difficult to follow and appears insufficiently supported. To strengthen the response, explain each example’s relevance and develop the opposing view with a more precise account of how sporting rivalry can damage relations.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a concluding opinion. Signposts such as “To begin with,” “On the other hand,” and “Overall” help readers follow the broad direction. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes unclear. For example, the move from hosting athletes well to doing more business needs a clearer explanation, and the India–Pakistan example is not explicitly connected to the claim. Some linking is mechanical, and references such as “they,” “those country,” and “this type of countries” make it difficult to identify exactly who is meant. Use clearer topic sentences and connect each example directly to the point it supports.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some topic-relevant vocabulary, including “competition,” “participate,” “treatment,” and “business deals,” and the reader can generally understand your intended meaning. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, sometimes making ideas difficult to interpret. Examples include “relationship are increase,” “gives business,” “become devil,” and “doing lot of business together.” Spelling errors such as “footbal,” “hotes,” “strenth,” and “intsead” also reduce accuracy. Aim to learn common collocations for international relations and sport, and check spelling carefully. More precise phrasing would help you express the contrast between friendly cooperation and national rivalry.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including a conditional structure in “when one country hosting a olympics event” and a reason clause beginning “This is because.” However, complex attempts are often faulty, and errors in verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence construction occur throughout. For example, “their relationship become stronger” needs subject–verb agreement, while “when they start to play cricket together now they both countries are doing” has an unclear and inaccurate structure. Several sentences also lack appropriate punctuation or have spacing problems. Practise building accurate sentences with one main clause and a clearly formed subordinate clause, then check tense, singular/plural agreement, and articles before adding more complexity.
