Student answer (Band 5.5)
worldwide sports events like the olympics or the FIFA world cup, is better path to solve all conflicts between countries. however, some believes that it creates more competition not friendship internationally.both statements have positive and negative effects. from my standpoint, these events have more positive effects worlwide rather than negative ones.
on the one hand, participants comes from all over the world to get engage in these events, which is the example of equality.furthermore, international sports events held in different country every time which represents there is no conflicts. for example - last time FIFA took place in america, who have conflicts with iran, but they welcome iran team to play on their fields is an example of sportsmanship. majortity of minister comes together to saw a match and celebrate their win. visitors get visa on the basis of events, get the opportunity to explore the world.
on the other hand, some people argue that these events create competition not friendship. in addition, some of the countries face loss from competitors and start hating each other ,which resulted in more conflicts such as, tariffs and taxes.moreover, some of the countries put ban on some players, which creates problems.
in conclusion, international sports events is an opportunity to get together and solve all the conflicts with equality. play with sportsmanship without any damage. fear of lossing is the main reason of conflicts ,which is solve by coordination.if everyone work with coordination and teamwork then no conflicts arrive.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You present a clear overall view that international sports events have more positive than negative effects, and you discuss both sides. The example of Iran being welcomed to play in the United States helps illustrate sportsmanship, while the point about countries reacting badly to defeat addresses the opposing view. However, several claims are broad or unclear: for instance, that hosting an event “represents there is no conflicts” does not explain how this follows, and the references to tariffs, player bans, and resolving “all the conflicts” are not sufficiently supported. The conclusion repeats your position but does not fully develop it. The response is also five words below the required minimum. Develop each main reason with clearer explanation and relevant evidence.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a coherent overall arrangement: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a conclusion. Signposting such as “on the one hand,” “on the other hand,” and “in conclusion” makes the structure easy to follow. However, connections between some ideas are abrupt or unclear. In the first body paragraph, the discussion moves from equality and hosting to ministers, visitors, and visas without showing how each point supports the main argument. The phrase “which resulted in more conflicts” also has an unclear reference. Use linking expressions to show cause and effect, and group related points rather than adding several loosely connected claims. This would make the progression more consistent and cohesion less mechanical.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “sportsmanship,” “competitors,” “conflicts,” and “coordination,” which helps communicate the main ideas. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate or imprecise, sometimes making the meaning difficult to follow. For example, “get engage in these events,” “saw a match,” and “fear of lossing” do not express the intended ideas naturally. There are also spelling and form errors such as “worlwide” and “majortity.” Aim to learn common collocations for sport and international relations, and check spelling and word forms carefully. More precise vocabulary would help you explain the effects of competition and cooperation.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including clauses with “which” and “if,” and the reader can generally identify your main position. However, errors are frequent, and some sentences are difficult to interpret. Examples include “participants comes,” “international sports events is,” and “if everyone work,” where subject–verb agreement is incorrect. Articles and sentence boundaries also need attention: “the example of equality.furthermore” should be separated and punctuated, while “some believes” has an incorrect verb form. The complex sentence about countries facing losses and starting to hate one another is also awkwardly constructed. Practise checking each sentence for a clear subject and correctly matched verb, then review punctuation and clause structure.
