Student answer (Band 5.5)

Sports are essential part of people's life. Because of this, some people argue to organise the international sports like olympics or the Football in order to create a healthy bond between the countries. whereas, others believe that i will create the riverly among the countries. In my prespective, I think international sports is the good way to make a good bond.

Firstly, international sports are the best way for the culture exchange. To elborate, if the country organise the sports match then it attracts the sporters from the others countries for the partcipation. As a result, the team from the different countries will get know each other and also share their culture and tradtional with each other. Moreover, everyone like the different team player and it does not matter if the player is from the different region. As a result, during the international sports, the supports from the different countries like to go to see the match in order to support their favourite team player. This will helps to exchange the culture and help to make a bond between the countries.

On the other hand, the sports events also create the competition which can create the competitor mentalitiy. To elborate, every countries want to win the tropis or price so they can shine among the other countries. Which will create the stressful environment. The countries will only focus on the competition rather than focus on the main reason of the game. Moreover, if the team may lose the match against the other country then the team will may face the negative or haters comments. Overall, it will only create the rively instead of friendship.

To conclude, i strongly agree with the point of view that countries should organise the sports event to create the bond between the countries, but they should only invite the thous country who know the meaning of sportsmanship.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

The response addresses both sides of the question and gives a clear opinion: international sports can build bonds, although competition may create rivalry. The first body paragraph explains cultural exchange through players and supporters, while the second describes pressure to win and negative reactions after a loss. These are relevant reasons, so the main task is covered. However, some points are asserted rather than fully explained. For example, the claim that supporters travelling to matches help countries bond would be stronger with a specific example or a clearer explanation of how this interaction changes relations. The conclusion adds a condition about inviting only countries that understand sportsmanship, but this idea is not developed earlier. Extend the key arguments and connect the conclusion more closely to them.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The essay has a clear overall structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a conclusion. The contrast between “Firstly” and “On the other hand” helps readers follow the discussion, and the main ideas generally progress in a logical order. This meets the lower-band expectation of coherent organisation and also shows some stronger control through paragraphing and signposting. However, linking is sometimes mechanical or repetitive: “As a result” appears twice in the first body paragraph, and “To elaborate” is repeated to introduce explanations. Some references are also unclear, such as “This will helps,” where the reader must infer what “This” refers to. Use a wider range of natural transitions and make links between each example and its main point more explicit.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The response uses a limited but relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “culture exchange,” “competition,” “stressful environment,” and “sportsmanship.” These choices make the general meaning understandable, but errors in spelling, word form, and collocation are noticeable and sometimes make the reader pause. Examples include “riverly” and “rively” for “rivalry,” “sporters” for “athletes,” and “tropis or price” for “trophies or prizes.” Phrases such as “make a good bond” and “competitor mentality” are also unnatural in this context. Build accuracy by learning common topic collocations, and check spelling and word forms carefully. More precise vocabulary would help express the ideas without relying on repeated general words such as “good” and “create.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The essay attempts both simple and more complex sentence forms, including conditional clauses such as “if the country organise the sports match” and a contrast introduced by “whereas.” However, control is inconsistent, and errors in agreement, articles, verb forms, and sentence boundaries occur often enough to affect clarity. For example, “Sports are essential part” needs an article, “This will helps” has an incorrect verb form, and “every countries want” has a plural-agreement problem. The sentence beginning “Which will create the stressful environment” is a fragment, while “the team will may face” combines modal verbs incorrectly. Practise building accurate clauses first, then combine them using conjunctions. Proofread specifically for subject–verb agreement, articles, and complete sentences.
