Many people believe that global sports events, namely the olympics or the soccer world cup are a better way to enhance nations togetherness. However, others argue that these events create competitions, not friendships between countries. This essay will examine the benefits of international sports events and why these events create competition among nations.
Firstly, these international sports ceremony held at different intervals are very essential because it encourages cultural diversity where are countries with different culture and tradition gather together with one vision, working closely to achieve their goals. It results to people of different race associating with each, display of various talents. For example, the last olympics held this year brought lots of benefit to the host nation, it boost their economy and created employment during the period. However, some argue that it creates enemity among countries during the events because some nations with poor performance find it competitive and not friendship. Some countries might be looked down on because of background, culture or language.
In my own opinion, I believe that such events should be encouraged to occur at the due time because it is promotes oneness, create employments and activate talents. It motivate the youth involve in the sports to work harder to win, most nations make promises to their altheletics. It also attracts investors to the developing countries which helps in development.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You address both views and state a clear preference for international events, especially in the paragraph beginning “In my own opinion.” Your points about cultural exchange, employment and investment are relevant. However, the opposing view is only briefly explained: the claim that poorer-performing countries may feel judged is not developed with a clear example or explanation of how competition damages relations. Some supporting points, such as the host nation’s economic benefits, do not directly show how the events bring countries together. To strengthen the response, explain each side more fully and connect examples explicitly to friendship or rivalry between nations.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable introduction, body paragraphs presenting the views and your opinion, and a conclusion. Sequencing words such as “Firstly,” “However,” and “In conclusion” help signal the structure. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes unclear: the first body paragraph moves from cultural diversity to host-country employment and then to hostility without fully linking these points. The conclusion also repeats the main ideas rather than drawing them together clearly. Some connections are difficult to follow, as in “where are countries with different culture and tradition gather together.” Use clearer topic sentences, group related supporting points, and make the relationship between each example and the paragraph’s main idea explicit.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You attempt topic-related vocabulary, including “cultural diversity,” “host nation,” “employment,” and “investors,” and use some less common expressions such as “activate talents.” However, the range is uneven, and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate or unclear, including “enhance nations togetherness,” “sports ceremony,” and “create competitions.” Spelling errors such as “enemity,” “altheletics,” and “bacause” also reduce accuracy. These issues sometimes make the intended meaning harder to understand, although the general topic remains clear. Build a more reliable set of collocations for discussing international relations and sport, and check spelling and word forms carefully.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including a relative clause in “Some countries might be looked down on because of background, culture or language.” However, control is inconsistent, and errors occur in sentence structure, agreement, verb forms, and articles. For example, “these international sports ceremony held” lacks a correctly formed subject and verb, while “it encourages” does not agree with the plural subject “events.” The phrase “it is promotes” also combines incompatible verb structures, and “Every actions have” has a number-agreement error. These problems can make some sentences difficult to follow. Practise building accurate subject–verb patterns before adding clauses, and proofread each sentence for agreement and complete verb forms.
