Student answer (Band 5.5)
Numerous people thinks that hosting international sports like the Football world Cup or The Olympics are the best way to bring countries together ; however, others argue that it creates competition between the countries.I believe that it creates freindship between countries not competition, but I will discuss both the opinions in upcoming paragraphs.
To begin with, The Olympics is a game in which almost all countries take part and players comes from different community and culture. It is aproximately two week event in which different players from different country get the chance to live together and understand each other's community and culture. This helps them to build a good relationship with each other and due to this, the bond among two countries become better and it result in bringing the unity among the community.
In contrast to this, there is very famous proverb that where there is rose, there thorne also; it means every postivite thing have equal and oppositve negative outcome in this world. As there are many players who are more competitive rather than being a good sportsman; they always want to win and donot understand the importance of taking part in the game. Winning become so important to them that they started have negative impression for their fellow players. As a result of this , players become more agressive and start the feeling of hatred for each others.
In conclusion, I would conclude that by saying that International games are the best way bring unity among countries and if every player taking part in these games start taking part in these games with the feeling of real sportsmen than obviously the feeling of freindship and botherhood among countries will begin to set.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address both sides of the question and state a clear view: international events create friendship rather than competition. The first body paragraph explains how athletes can live together and learn about one another’s cultures, while the second recognises that an excessive focus on winning can lead to aggression and hostility. These are relevant points, and the conclusion returns to your position. However, some ideas are asserted rather than fully explained: for example, the link between athletes’ relationships and “unity among the community” or between players’ attitudes and relations between countries could be made clearer. Develop each view with a specific example and explain how it supports your argument to make the response more complete.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a clear overall structure, with an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a conclusion. Signposts such as “To begin with,” “In contrast to this,” and “In conclusion” help readers follow the discussion. However, some connections are mechanical or unclear. The opening promises to discuss both opinions “in upcoming paragraphs,” and the conclusion repeats “taking part in these games” and “by saying that,” which interrupts the flow. References such as “this” in “due to this” do not always make the precise cause clear. Aim for smoother links between claims and explanations, and use pronouns only when their reference is unmistakable. This would make the progression more natural while preserving the effective paragraph structure.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “competitive,” “sportsman,” “aggressive,” “negative impression,” and “relationship.” This gives you enough language to communicate the main ideas. However, the range is limited and several word-choice, collocation, and spelling problems make the writing less natural: “players comes from different community,” “rose…thorne,” “positive thing,” and “real sportsmen” are either inaccurate or awkward in context. There are also repeated words such as “countries,” “players,” and “games.” Build a more precise set of expressions for international relations and sporting conduct, and check spelling carefully. More natural phrasing would help your ideas sound clearer and more controlled.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including clauses with “in which,” “that,” and “As a result,” so there is some structural variety. The main message is generally understandable, but errors in agreement, verb forms, articles, and sentence construction recur. For example, “Numerous people thinks” should use a plural verb, “players comes” needs agreement, and “the bond…become better” requires a matching verb form. The sentence beginning “Winning become so important…” also shifts awkwardly into “they started have.” Review subject–verb agreement and keep verb forms consistent within each sentence. Breaking up a few long or loosely connected sentences would also improve accuracy and readability.
