Student answer (Band 5.5)

Half of the individuals beleive that international sports like The Olympics or Football World Cup are productive way to make closer relation between different countries. On the other hand some are against to this notion. Let us discuss both the views in the subsequent paragraphs with relevant examples.

To begin with, there are some advantages of these kind of competitions for people. First and foremost, as citizens have chance to explore new country and culture, these kind of events are benefical to make good relation between different states. To elaborate, whenever individual get chance to stay with other religious person, it helps to boost their knowledge about different culture, food and rituals. To cite an example, a survey conducted by students of Oxford University in US in 2020 , they concluded that more than 25% players agreed that because of international events they got chance to know other cultures and made good relation with them.

On the otherhand, there are some negative effects of these events. Primarily, player increase their aggression and anger when they loose match from other team. To explain, competitors not only feel embarase but also loose respect on the land of other country, so it develop anger emotions towards

oposite team when they loose first position. To example, when the students of Delhi University searched on Footbal team of India in 2023, it concluded that most of the players refused to play with England team since they loosed match from that team in an competition.

To conclusion, although international events tends to develop knowledge about newculture and religious, it also have bad effects on the behaviour of some players. Sportsman can not tolrate the last posiotion from otherteam specially on the strange land.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You address both sides of the discussion: the first main paragraph explains how meeting people and experiencing other cultures may build relations, while the second describes how losing can provoke anger and disrespect. However, the task asks for your own opinion, and the conclusion mainly repeats both views rather than clearly stating which you believe is stronger or what your overall position is. The supporting ideas are also limited: the cultural-exchange point is explained, but the claim that players may refuse to play a team after losing is not clearly connected to relations between countries. Develop each argument with a more convincing explanation or example, and state your view directly.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a coherent overall arrangement, with an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a conclusion. Signposting such as “To begin with” and “On the other hand” helps readers follow the shift between arguments. However, some linking is mechanical, with repeated frames such as “To elaborate,” “To explain,” and “To cite an example.” Connections within the second argument are not always clear, particularly the move from players feeling embarrassed to refusing to play England. The conclusion also does not clearly resolve the discussion with your own position. Use fewer formulaic transitions and make the relationship between each claim, explanation, and example explicit.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “international sports,” “different cultures,” “competitors,” and “aggression,” and you attempt some less common expressions. However, the range is limited and several inaccurate word choices or collocations make parts of the response difficult to interpret, such as “make closer relation,” “loose respect,” and “anger emotions.” Spelling errors, including “beleive,” “benefical,” and “embarase,” also reduce accuracy. Aim to learn topic vocabulary in natural combinations and check spelling carefully. More precise terms for cultural exchange, national unity, and sporting rivalry would help you express the arguments clearly without relying on repeated general words such as “good” and “bad.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including a conditional structure in “whenever individual get chance to stay with other religious person” and a contrast clause beginning “although.” However, control is inconsistent, and errors in agreement, articles, verb forms, and sentence construction sometimes make the meaning hard to follow. For example, “these kind of events are” has a number mismatch, “international events tends” has a subject–verb agreement error, and “it also have” uses the wrong verb form. Some sentences are also awkwardly joined, especially the survey examples. Practise building accurate sentences around one main idea, checking singular and plural subjects, and using past-tense forms consistently when describing completed studies or matches.
