Student answer (Band 5.5)
Globalization in sports has incresed nowadays. Many people deem that foreign games event such as the football world cup and the Olympics are the way to connect with the othwe countries. However, some people believe that it cause competition. Both the views are elaborated in the following paragraphs followed by my opion.
To commence with, Internation sports event improve friendship between the countries. Firstly, Beacuse of these games people get chance to visit other counties. For instance, in Olympics people travel to other countries. As a result, they get chance to know about other counties roots and rituals which inhance their knowledge. Secondly, it also creats good relation among the country. As a conseqeunce, there will be less wars and problems between the counties.
On the other hand, it also creats competition. First and foremost, if one team defeat another one, there will be feeling of revenge. For instance, if one country loose from another county there will be conflict between them. As a result, it also affects business relation of those countries.
To recapitulate, according to my opinion this situation has a win-win situaion. However i belive that foreign game events are beneficial as people get interact with different culture and get more information about new culture and people. At the same time it creats conflict and competition between the countries. I deem that they should take these events as a game and a source of enjoyment rathar than taking serious and personal so that we can handle this situation in a good way without any bad impact between any countries.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You address both views and give a personal position: you explain that events can encourage cultural contact and better relations, while also acknowledging rivalry and possible conflict. This covers the task’s main parts. However, the discussion is only partly developed, which is why the response remains limited in its support. The friendship argument relies mainly on visitors learning about “roots and rituals,” and the claim that this leads to “less wars” is asserted rather than explained. The competition paragraph similarly moves from losing a match to revenge and damaged business relations without showing how likely or direct that effect is. Your opinion is present, but the final suggestion to treat events as entertainment could be explained more clearly and linked to the two views.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall arrangement: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a conclusion. The reader can follow the progression, and signposts such as “On the other hand” and “To recapitulate” make the structure visible. This meets the lower-band expectation of coherent organisation and shows some stronger control through paragraphing. However, cohesion is sometimes mechanical: “Firstly,” “Secondly,” “As a result,” and “For instance” are repeatedly used to connect short claims, even where the relationship needs more explanation. References such as “this situation” in the conclusion are also broad. To strengthen progression, connect each example directly to the claim it supports and use clearer references rather than relying on formulaic transitions.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use a range of topic-related vocabulary, including “international sports event,” “competition,” “conflict,” “business relation,” and “culture.” These choices make the general subject clear, but the range is limited and several noticeable spelling and word-choice errors reduce precision. Examples include “incresed,” “othwe,” “opion,” “conseqeunce,” and “situaion.” Some phrases are also unnatural or imprecise, such as “foreign games event,” “get chance,” and “good relation among the country.” Aim to learn accurate collocations as complete phrases—for example, “international sporting events,” “have the opportunity to,” and “strengthen relations between countries.” More precise vocabulary would help you express the consequences and distinctions in your argument without repeating general terms such as “people” and “countries.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a relative clause in “events … which inhance their knowledge” and a conditional structure beginning “if one team defeat another one.” However, the range is limited, and errors occur frequently enough to make some sentences awkward or difficult to process. For example, “some people believe that it cause competition” has a subject–verb agreement problem, while “if one country loose … there will be conflict” has errors in the conditional clause and verb form. Articles and plurals are also inconsistent, as in “in Olympics” and “among the country.” Practise building accurate sentences with one main idea and then adding a subordinate clause; check agreement, articles, and verb forms before adding further complexity.
