Student answer (Band 5.0)
Sports is one medium which can be utilized in many ways between countries .
My strong openion is that it creates a good relationship between countries
and i dont think so the sports will create the conflicts between the countries.
So i will be discussing my both the views
On one hand, I agree that olympics or any other sports will bring countries together becasue sports exchange the culture between different people and if one country is hosting it invites all the other countries and it will not only build trust but it will be the foundation for the upcomming deals. For instance, i had been to football world cup , there were 2 teams representing 2 different countries 1 player got hurt while playing and even the other country player stood to help the player which represents the extandable hands for friendship.
on the other hand ,I disagree that it will create conflicts between countries as people will face conscequence if they create competation

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
You state a clear preference for the view that international sports bring countries together, and the example of an opposing player helping an injured competitor is relevant. However, the task asks you to discuss both views, and the second side is not meaningfully explained: “I disagree that it will create conflicts” gives your position but does not describe why others believe competition can damage relations. Your first argument about cultural exchange and trust is also brief, and the example needs clearer context and explanation. The response is substantially below the required 250 words, so several parts of the task remain only minimally addressed. Develop both perspectives, explain your opinion with reasons, and add specific supporting examples.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5
There is a basic attempt to organise the response, using an opening, “On one hand” and “on the other hand.” This gives the reader some indication of the intended structure. However, the progression is limited: the second body paragraph ends almost immediately, and the opening says you will discuss both views without establishing a clear route through them. Some connections are difficult to follow, particularly the long sentence about hosting, trust and “upcoming deals,” where several ideas are joined together. Use separate paragraphs for each viewpoint and a conclusion, and connect each claim to its explanation and example. More precise linking and referencing would make the argument easier to follow.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “culture,” “trust,” “foundation” and “competition,” so the main subject is generally understandable. However, the range is limited, and several spelling and word-choice errors make the writing less clear or natural, such as “openion,” “becasue,” “upcomming” and “conscequence.” Some phrases are also awkward, including “exchange the culture” and “extandable hands for friendship.” Aim for accurate collocations and a more formal register; for example, describe sports as “promoting cultural exchange” and an act of assistance as “a gesture of sportsmanship.” Proofreading spelling and choosing precise expressions would improve clarity.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a conditional structure in “if one country is hosting it invites all the other countries.” However, the range remains limited, and complex sentences are often difficult to control. In that example, the clauses need clearer punctuation and a more accurate structure. There are also errors in sentence boundaries and capitalisation, such as the lower-case “i” and the run-on sequence “deals. For instance.” The opening phrase “Sports is one medium” also has an agreement problem. Use shorter, complete sentences when needed, then practise combining clauses with accurate punctuation and consistent verb forms. These changes would make your meaning easier to read.
