Student answer (Band 5.5)
In the contempary era, there is heated argument over the issue that the international sports events like olympics or the football world cup, are a good way to brings countries together. A majority of socity favours it however the rest opposes it and says that these events create unhealthy competitation between countries. rge following paragraph would highlight my perspective which will lead to a logical comclusion.
Analysing the statement, I see eye to eye agree that these sports events would brings countries together with a healthy relation. As we can take an example of football world cup 2026, we can see that the people of different countries were supporting the player of different nation. i would like to give my own example i am originally from nepal but i like messi and support him throught out the game which make me support the whole country argentina. People from different parts of the world would not think about the colours of skin or the culture in the sports, which will help to bring peoples together from various countries.
Probing ahead there is some negative inpact as well, if the countries take there losses to eggo then there mighb be unhealthy relation between countries. As an example in 2026 fifa world cup the irains teams has to leave usa after there each games which make the people of these countries to disslike usa.
In my opinion, international sports event should be heald with in a year or more, which will have all countrise to grow a healthy relation. There might be some negative impact but with a fear game we can change the thought of the peoples as well as counntries.
in conclusion, although there is some problems but if the international sports events is organiged and all the countries in the word can take participate, then there might be a healthy compitation between players and which will help to improve healthy relations with in the countries.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You discuss both views and state a preference for the unifying effect of international sport, so the response is relevant to the task. The example of supporting Messi despite being from Nepal helps illustrate how sport can create interest in another country. However, the opposing view is only briefly explained: the claim that Iran’s team leaving the USA would make people dislike the USA is unclear and not sufficiently supported. Your position also shifts somewhat between saying events build healthy relations and suggesting they should be held “within a year or more.” Develop each side with clearer reasoning and a more convincing example, then state your opinion consistently. The response contains 11 words copied from the task prompt; these were not counted in the reported total.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, an opinion, and a conclusion. This gives the reader some guidance through the discussion. However, progression is not always clear: the opinion paragraph repeats the idea of healthy relations without adding much, and the conclusion largely restates earlier points. Some linking phrases, such as “Analysing the statement” and “Probing ahead,” sound formulaic and do not clearly show the relationship between ideas. References such as “these events” and “which” can also make connections difficult to follow. Use simpler, more precise transitions and ensure each paragraph develops one distinct point that leads logically to the next.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You attempt topic-related vocabulary, including “unhealthy competition,” “healthy relation,” and “different parts of the world,” and you try to express abstract ideas about national relationships. However, the range is limited and several inaccurate word choices or collocations make the meaning difficult to interpret. For example, “take there losses to eggo” appears to mean taking losses to heart or reacting with hostility, while “fear game” seems intended to mean fair game. There are also frequent spelling errors, including “contempary,” “socity,” and “comclusion.” These issues reduce precision and sometimes distract the reader. Build a reliable set of phrases for discussing rivalry, cooperation, and sporting events, and check spelling and collocations carefully.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and longer sentence forms, including clauses beginning with “if” and “although,” but control is inconsistent. Errors occur frequently in verb forms and agreement: “events … brings,” “these sports events would brings,” and “the international sports events is organiged.” Articles and plurals are also unreliable, as in “a healthy relation” and “the people of these countries.” Some sentences become difficult to follow because several clauses are joined without clear punctuation, particularly the final sentence beginning “although there is some problems.” Practise accurate subject–verb agreement, verb forms after modal verbs, and sentence boundaries. Shorter, well-controlled sentences would make your ideas clearer while you build confidence with complex structures.
