Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You introduce both views and state a clear preference: “I firmly believe” that these events have more benefits than drawbacks. The discussion of cultural exchange and mutual respect is relevant, and you attempt to support it with an example involving India and Japan. However, the response addresses the task only partially because the second viewpoint is left unfinished: the final sentence ends at “may have,” so its consequence is not explained. The example is also difficult to assess as support for the claim about trade and relationships, and your own opinion is not developed beyond the opening. Explain both sides fully, complete the final point, and add specific reasoning or a credible example to support your position.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response has an introduction followed by paragraphs that signal the two perspectives, and phrases such as “To begin with,” “Furthermore,” and “However” help show intended relationships between ideas. Nevertheless, progression is uneven: the first body paragraph moves from cultural exchange to international trade without clearly explaining the link, while the second paragraph stops mid-sentence. Some connections are also unclear, particularly the claim that citizens’ reactions lead authorities to reconsider trade. Develop one main idea at a time, explain how each example supports it, and finish the discussion before concluding. A separate conclusion would also help bring the argument and your position together.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You attempt a range of topic-related vocabulary, including “cultural heritage,” “mutual respect,” “rivalry,” and “international trades,” and some choices show an effort to discuss the issue beyond basic terms. However, several inaccurate or unnatural expressions make the meaning less clear, such as “betterment of the world,” “at one platform,” and “a mode of entertainment by the media.” There are also noticeable spelling and word-form errors, including “belives,” “tought,” “entraintment,” and “authorties.” Choose more natural collocations and check spelling carefully. For example, describe athletes as meeting “on a shared platform” and media coverage as “portraying rivalry as entertainment.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt complex structures, including a contrast introduced by “While others oppose this notion” and a cause-and-effect sentence beginning “as a result.” However, control is inconsistent, and errors in sentence structure, agreement, verb forms, and articles sometimes make the argument difficult to follow. For example, “international sports events … has” needs plural agreement, while “citizens take it personally starts hating” combines clauses incorrectly. “The helding of tournaments … may have” is also left incomplete, preventing the sentence from expressing a full idea. Practise building complete sentences with clear subjects and verbs, and check agreement and verb forms. Use complex clauses only when their grammatical relationships are clear.
